Just as the Jews persecuted Christ in Smyrna, remember it wasn't all Jews. As with Christians today, judging and condemning others is not inclusive of all Christians. The behavior was and is politically motivated. Believers took their eyes off of God. We may feel impoverished in our hopelessness, but remember, we are rich in Christ.

We are incapable of living the life God has called us to. Through Jesus Christ, our sins are forgiven, and new life is breathed into us Alive to guide us in his way for Eternal Life through Salvation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. 

Falsely accused and executed, you know the tribulation.  You overcame for us to be overcomers.
