Be ...

Be an agreeable gray. Last week, I mentioned the renovation color that the committee selected for the sanctuary of First Baptist Plainview: Agreeable Gray. Someone said the color name was ironic since Baptists are known to disagree. I did not know this was a Baptist thing. I find it a human nature issue that each person needs to address.

Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace. Romans 14:19

I know our FB/PLV followers of Christ are agreeable.

Welcome to the "agreeable gray," where God leads us to worship!

According to Paul, the way to agree to disagree is to recall that each of us will answer to the Lord not only for our opinions but also for how we treat one another in our differences (v. 10). Even when Christians disagree on certain issues, they should still treat each other with respect and love.

You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.  It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’ Romans 14:10-11.

Join us in worship at 10:15 AM on Sundays at the "agreeable gray" church, First Baptist Plainview, 8th & Austin Streets. The lower auditorium (elevator) is 'Live,' and the chapel (street level) is 'streamed.' All are welcome.
