View

Nestled in the Country Club addition of Plainview, Texas, this is a view looking out over the Running Water Draw from Thomas Blvd. Park. The Draw is down under all the gree, gold, red and orange! The view I had growing up and a place where we played as kids. Lots of fun times!

Armor

Oh, God, I need you. Every breath is yours. Let me stand amidst your faithfulness. Me, a sinner with conviction, you created. With you, God, through your blood of salvation, there is the promise of eternal life. I cling to you, and I need you in every breath.

God, don't forget me. Fill this vessel with virtuous light. Help my eyes to see, my heart to feel, and my hands and feet to be available for your ministry song. Allow my reverence for you to prevail.

Be my armor.

For this reason take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand. Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest, and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace. In every situation take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit—which is the word of God. Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints. Ephesians 6:13-18

Not sure

I'm not sure who our daughter most looks like, but she lights up my life. She has more of her dad's personality, which is a good thing in my book. She is beautiful! This was her wedding day many years ago. She was a state, regional, national, and world award-winning twirler. Her wedding headpiece was a crown she won, one of many wins. Her biggest win, in my opinion, is her sweet soul. We love her so much!

Flawsome

I have insecurities. My face is like a battlefield. It bears scars from too much childhood sun exposure and skin cancer from a handful of times I spent in a tanning bed to warm my aching bones. Through the seasons of life, my derma has found itself sliced open repeatedly, frozen more than Elsa can imagine, and scraped deep enough to remove its pigmentation. Still, I am thankful for being alive through God's directive to medical teams caring for me.

I am enough. I know this in my heart, and the Word of God affirms it through my creation, but the world shows me a different picture. I try to stay focused on an attitude that embraces the word flawsome, a person who embraces their flaws and knows they are fantastic in spite of them, those who continuously encourage me, and the peace that God provides me even in my darkest moments of insecurity.

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. 1 Peter 3:3-4

There is a Hope. His name is Jesus. This is where I place my trust. I'm still being molded for Eternity!

2 Corinthians 4:16, Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

Fears

A little about me. I have a bit of PTSD with the telephone. I don't think light of PTSD. I fear the phone. I have to do a mental survey when it rings. It is so nice to have caller ID to help me process the calls.

If I don't answer your call, maybe it is simply that I can't. I'm not the only one who has fears that often trip them up. Let's be kind, compassionate, and forgiving.

On a side note. I was recently in a business where a shop owner went off on everything that had built up inside of them that has been considered progress in our community. I understand that there are different opinions on everything. I stood there and listened, saying very few words while the top blew off and hot steam erupted from this person. Then, in the end, it was tears for their child who may have Parkison's. At the bottom of everything we don't understand, there is a fear. But God ~ grace and forgiveness my friends, grace and forgiveness!

Ice

Ice, ice, baby! I'll never forget the drive from Dallas to Plainview in November 2013. There were so many overturned trucks and cars. The ice was so thick on the roads that it would bounce you out, and then you would begin to slide. It was a terrifying trip home. If I remember correctly, what usually takes five hours ended up being closer to nine. Thank goodness Clinton was driving, and God had the wheel!

Went to Church

It was such a beautiful evening in Plainview, Texas, tonight, so I went to church ... When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
