It was trip week. I traveled to the Hill Country of Texas to visit a couple of classmates. We always have a sweet time. We sit for hours in discussion and enjoy just being. Joy-filled trip week!

For all of those who battle breast cancer, who are called to this great sacrifice with great testimony, may you feel surrounded by those that God has called unto you on this journey.
In Matthew 28:11-30 we read, Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before. As you hold the tiniest thread in your physical and mental weakness, God will weave it into your story of healing as he carries you and delivers you hope.
Isaiah 41:10, So do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
A windy day, but Trick or Truck 2022 is in the books! Thank you to the Plainview Junior Service League for your event to Dress Plainview's Live Dolls!!!
This guy, the only grandson with 4 grand sisters, had a good time!
Our zombie rapper ... LOL
Playing a little football toss with the officers.
The sweetest little zombie monster. She does like "scary" movies.
This is the way we do tent life! The kids were about 6 and 3 years old. He was not asleep, always acting like he was for picture taking.
Today at the Plainview-Hale County Health Department, a group came together to hear breast cancer information and the opportunity to ask questions. Covenant Health Plainview sponsored the lunch event, and Dr. Foster, Dr. Luong, and Dr. Lara provided important breast cancer screening options. If you or someone you know does not have insurance, grants are available for mammograms. Cost should not keep us from quality health screenings.
The lights are so colorful at dusk!
Making a decision before getting behind the wheel of a car to be the light shine for God when it comes to patience is always a good thing!
I am currently reading the book Breath as Prayer by Jennifer Tucker. I believe fully that the cadence of breath-filled prayer calms many issues we suffer with.
"Be a bright flame before me, O God
a guiding star above me.
Be a smooth path below me,
a kindly shepherd behind me
today, tonight, and forever.
Alone with none but you, my God,
I journey on my way;
what need I fear when you are near,
O Lord of night and day?
More secure am I within your hand
than if a multitude did round me stand.
Amen" ... Ann Voskamp
Breathe. Pray. Breathe. Pray.
When you live in prayer, you live in peace.
There's one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us - Jesus, who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin, to set them all free. 1 Timothy 2:5-6
Especially when we are overcome by stress...
Try this ...
Inhale. Fill your whole self with the gift of breath.
Fill air into your lungs as you pray: Sovereign Jesus, Son of Man
Exhale slowly and thoroughly and pray: With your love, calm my fears.
As you divide your prayer time into deep and cleansing inhales and exhales, you will sense a deep and abiding love surrounding you. As you enter the sanctuary, allow God to speak to you as you are still and listening. Whatever your prayer, breathe! Be open to the words that create the rhythm from the Master's heartbeat.
Inhale: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Exhale: Sweetest name I know!
Within our physical lives, we must breathe in and out to live. The same is true for our spiritual lives. We must breathe in the goodness of God and exhale his glorious grace as we walk our walk.
Inhale: Even though I walk
Exhale: through the darkest valley,
Inhale: I will fear no evil,
Exhale: for you are with me;
Inhale: your rod and your staff,
Exhale: they comfort me.
(Psalm 23:4)
Let God lead you in your prayer time. He alone knows what is good for us! He designed us with the need to breathe, and when we sit with Him in the sanctuary, he calms our weary souls.
Listen and Pray!
We have been friends for 60+ years; this beautiful young lady & me! Debby and I, along with our spouses, enjoyed dinner together last evening. She is a treasure in my life, for sure. Debby and I grew up in the Plainview Country Club Addition in Plainview; specifically the Thomas Blvd. Park circle. We have so many childhood stories, life stories in general, that we have experienced together. She celebrates a birthday this week, so happy early birthday, Debby!
A little doodle truth today...
We must love those like us, unlike us, who like us, and who unlike us!
