Fun Morning

We had a fun morning. These girls are at such a sweet age...six years apart and the best of times playing at Ushka's!

Don't let this little one (Miss B) fool you. She IS a mess, but with the kindest heart! Miss J is a great sister.

Miss J started her braces journey.

They are growing up too quickly and yet perfectly!

Words

Sometimes I create words. A few years ago, okay, like over ten years ago, I submitted several to the Urban Dictionary, and they were approved. This morning I saw the word kowinkydink and laughed. It is now my favorite word. I did not create it but there sure is a bunch of kowinkydinks going on.

It is in the Urban Dictionary,  "meaningful coincidences."

I had forgotten all about the Urban Dictionary...

The words I did create and are in the dictionary are:

petio
petio-an outdoor area (patio) where pets spend leisure time and entertain pet friends.
Honey, will you put the veggie bones in the 'petio', Leviathan and Kane are expecting company.

jill
jealous individual lacking love
It is sad that she is a jill.

Snackdown
When food is consumed.
I headed to the local burger spot for a snackdown.
Snackdown at McD's.

car butt
What you get when you travel by car for long distances.
You for sure will have "car butt" after driving from NY to LA on vacation!

dodge mirrors
dodge mirrors is a game we play to avoid seeing a reflection of ourselves naked.
I have been playing dodge mirrors since I gained 10 pounds.
Since turning 50, I have played dodge mirrors!

Oh, my, how funny! Cracking up people with my new ideas every day! LOL

To Know

There is a difference between knowing, acquiring knowledge, doing and 'to know.' He has unveiled the core of my being with the Truth. To know is more valuable than the power of the world.

"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." John 14:1-3.

John 14:12-14, "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

As we get closer to Independence Day, I am so eternally blessed to know my independent identity is found in Christ. To know is peace. Think what you will, and I will sit in His presence.

Understanding

I was all set to write something on this topic:

questions + opinions = fear

... and God said, No. Instead, he led me to scriptures of understanding.

  • Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. Jeremiah 33:3
  • Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly. Proverbs 14:29
  • The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Proverbs 4:7
  • I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Psalm 32:8
  • A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart. Proverbs 21:12
  • So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18
  • I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. Ephesians 1:17
  • But test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
  • The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. Psalm 119:130
  • As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9
  • For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 2 Corinthians 10:3
  • Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them. Proverbs 4:5
  • Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding. Proverbs 3:13
  • My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ. Colossians 2:2
  • For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 1 Corinthians 2:11
  • You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. Psalm 139:1-2

It is hard to remain quiet about so much, but keeping the beauty of God front and center always wins!

Led

Deuteronomy 8:15, He led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions. He brought you water out of hard rock.

Dance

Both our away grand sisters are dancers. One is hyper-full of limberness, and the other is a beautifully peace-filled lyrical/ballet dancer. They both can do anything from hip-hop to ballet, but they have their styles. One gets me hyped, while the other one brings deep emotion and tears through the dance. They are competing, and Miss D just won big. We are super excited for her. She owned the stage today.

Creating

Mae Harkins was loved by many. She fought a battle with cancer. She ran the race and was welcomed into her eternal home in 2019. Mae was born on April 28, 1951. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1970. I did not know Mae well and not until much later in our lives, but we had an instant connection once we did meet. I'm pretty sure it was the same for all who knew Mae.

A few months ago, Mae's daughter-in-law, Leslie, gifted me with a box full of bottle caps. I knew that I wanted to create something from them, but at the time, they were put in the garage "create with one day" closet. Life gets busy, and then God opens a window of opportunity, even gives you the direction and guides your creativity; of course, he does. So, this week I spent some "studio" time creating.

This piece is titled "Over the Rainbow, in Loving Memory of Mae Harkins."

Perception

I find the perceptions of others interesting as they view the same things. I was visiting with a grand sister, and I commented on all the wrinkles on my face. Her perception is that my face wrinkles are simply a road map and necessary.
