Eye
Thursday, November 18, 2021
I label my pictures with 'eyes to see' because God gave me eyes to see things differently. This evening I caught the "eye" of God.
Once Upon a Time
Wednesday, November 17, 2021
Once upon a time, this old lady was a young girl with copper-red hair. If it didn't take so much upkeep, I would color my hair copper-red. But, it is a hard color to get, and I'm not sure I would enjoy anything different than the color I had. I enjoy the shade of pale strawberry blonde that it has turned, but I loved, loved having copper-red hair!
Moon-shine!
Monday, November 15, 2021
Jeremiah 31:35, Thus says the Lord, who gives the sun for light by day and the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar; the Lord of hosts is His name:
All Stripes
Sunday, November 14, 2021
We are sinners of all stripes. You nor I am sin-free. We all fall short. As I have been with God today, I have grown. I make mistakes; give me grace, please.
Today I was led to this art piece, "Sinners of All Stripes."
Mark 2:17, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Knowing we will have a week filled with joy, generosity, and grace-giving. Because he lives, I can face tomorrow!
Jericho
Saturday, November 13, 2021
I really think I am too tired to write about Jericho, but this has been on my mind all day. So I hope these words make sense.
If you are like me, there are prayers that are deep within our spirit that are not answered. I trust God hears my prayers and will deliver the desire of my heart in these matters. Jericho means fragrant. I remember Mom-rie saying, "How sweet it is," when she & Delmar were playing Canasta with friends. How sweet the fragrance of the Holy Spirit is when we walk through the valleys of life with Holy direction.
I'm marching around my walls of Jericho as I continue to give my deepest desires to God to heal. Finally, one day the wall will fall. I may not see it in my lifetime, but I will know the peace in Eternity.
How sweet it is to be loved by you, God!
This Is Marie Duncan, Mom-rie. She is the mother of my childhood friend, Debby Duncan Ketchersid.
It Went Down
Friday, November 12, 2021
It went down today. Sweet friends Terra & Tyler James had the ribbon cutting for their new Hello Baby Apparel located at 509 Broadway Street in Downtown Plainview. I decided to take my camera to get a couple of photos for my blog today, but Sterlee Mae James wanted to take pictures. I will post an album of her pictures on my Facebook page, but here is a photo she took of the Hello Baby Apparel ladies! Her pictures are wonderful.
Veteran's Day
Thursday, November 11, 2021
Each Veteran's Day, the Elk's 1175 provides their building for the American Legion Auxilliary Unit 260 to provide breakfast for all Veterans. In addition, Estacado has a Veteran's Day assembly where they recognize Veterans, and then the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 260 honors the Veteran at the Hale County Courthouse.
Sky
Wednesday, November 10, 2021
The sky is one of God's masterpieces that He shares to remind us of HIS great Love.
Psalm 19.1 reads, The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.
