Porpoise

Life Has a Porpoise is a fun little art piece I did several years ago. However, a porpoise's porpoising has a real purpose. The leaping into the air we often porpoises do seems to be a playful antic, but it has a benefit beyond merely having fun. For the porpoise, it is a matter of conserving energy as it swims. They swim several feet below the water level to not create waves by their body that will slow them down. Often they will ride the wave of a boat or storm by cleverly locating their bodies in just the right position in the wave to enable them to move at the speed of the wave with no effort whatsoever.
Psalm 37:3-7a
Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.
Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him;
Psalm 107:29
He caused the storm to be still,
So that the waves of the sea were hushed.
The porpoise knows how to conserve energy; it's God's design. The same goes for us. When we trust, take delight & commit, our way is much easier. Just sayin'!
