I am thankful that my body worked. I said a lot of prayers for our babies as my body carried them. As I delivered these two babies, I knew that each one was uniquely God's child. My body was never the same after delivering our son and then our daughter, and that's okay; they are worth it. God created two miracles for us.
On Mother's Day 2021, I am thankful for my arms that held each of them. Don't let anyone tell you differently, raising children is hard. There are times where we must step back and take a deep breath. Then we dig back into parenting through exhaustion or frustration because they are worth it and our responsibility. I'm thankful for my lungs that breathed the air in those "deep breath" life moments.
Our children grew up in a rural community and I'm thankful for their work ethic and that they value kindness. As a mother, I am thankful for the spouses God led them to and our two sets of grand-sisters that are the icing on their sweet cakes.
Happy Mother's Day to our daughter and daughter-in-love.
