Today, I wore my grandmother Dayton's cameo necklace and ring that her son and my father, John Dayton, brought home to her from his time in the U.S. Navy, 1944-1945. They are 75 years old. They have no value, just sentimentally attached value.
He sent her this cameo for her birthday during his service while in Hawaii, too.
I never knew my grandmother, but I know she was a special woman. This is one of the very few pictures we have of her. I think I have her eyes.
