What I Learned

What I learned in church.

Multitudes are free through crimson blood. Every day is a celebration for disciples of Jesus Christ.

The blessed are not guests of the pity party, though many attend.

Hope is found in nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness.

Heaven and earth tremble...

They storm the city; they run along the wall; they climb into houses, entering through windows like thieves. Before them, the earthquakes; the heavens tremble. The sun and the moon grow dark, and the stars lose their brightness. The LORD raises His voice in the presence of His army. Indeed, His camp is very large, for mighty are those who obey His command. For the Day of the LORD is great and very dreadful. Who can endure it?… Joel 2:10

What's our 'locust?'

Loss but not lost.

Hope is bigger than brokenness; it's what direction we face that allows us the realization.

The most destructive attribute in our life is self.

Hope is not Salvation. Hope is the expectation through joy found in the journey to eternity in Jesus Christ.

Repent for abundance.

If we take our lollipop & turn our backs, what God good is that?

If you never know the reason for the victory in Jesus, no longer slaves freedom is lost. My hope is found in how great is our God. Amen

What are the advantages of coming in 2nd place? How people respond to success or failure in pivotal life events may produce long-lasting consequences for living. Placing second creates a drive within that is hard to ignore.

I understand now that my soul is my power, not perfection or my ego. I continue to teach this to my children, despite their glamorous careers. If we can maintain our core values, the exteriors take second place and become a gift, a source of gratitude. Yolanda Hadid

My soul is God's power. The world offers many options. There is One line, my lifeline.

*What I Learned, is not a direct reflection of the sermon series, My Hope is Found, taught by Pastor Jacob West at FB.PLV, but what the Holy Spirit placed in my mind and on my heart as I listened.

Fresh Find: Several have asked what copper pitcher I purify my water in. Here it is. You may be able to purchase these locally now. At the time I bought mine, no one carried them where I live.

Solid Liquid Vapor

When I think of the Trinity, I think of solid [God], liquid [Jesus], and vapor [Holy Spirit]. God is foundational. He is the rock on which I stand. Jesus is liquid as in the Living Water. He refreshes me in my faith walk and through his death & resurrection provides me eternal life (John 3:16).

John 4:14, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."

The Holy Spirit is represented through vapor. Even though I cannot see the Holy Spirit in the atmosphere, it is alive within me and fills me with directive thoughts and the power to accomplish these things.

Like this Trinity fountain. It reminds me that the Trinity is one; God is the tubing that all life flows through. Jesus is the Living Water, and the Holy Spirit is the oxidation process that builds layers of beauty inside that radiates to the world.

They were together as One in the beginning...

God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. Genesis 1:26

And the best thing about the Truth, it sets me free. It allows me peace. It helps my eyes to see, my heart to become willing, and my hands and feet to be his.

Do you know Him?

Lucky One

I'm the lucky one. I am the photo taker, and I get to stumble across pictures like this from time-to-time! This is a picture of some of our Theta Delphin group many years ago. We did a study on travel. We were the Yo-Yo Sisterhood! LOL, We had a great time. The group has changed through the years but always beautiful souled women!!!

Sorry girls but I had to share it!!!

Up High

Several years back, I climbed to the top of the silo at High Plains Concrete. I had always wanted to get up there, especially before I aged out!

Oh, My!

Oh, my! What was I thinking? Here we have our daughter and me before my cousin's wedding, 30+ years ago! Attendant dresses for weddings are most often horrible in design and color because everyone should not be wearing something that doesn't flatter them. At a wedding, it is about the bride being the one flattered, forget everyone else! LOL

I wonder where are the sheep that this Little Bo Peep has lost???

Kiss

DSCN5569

This picture is proof that I did allow my parents to kiss me. It is the only kiss I remember from them. I knew my parents loved me always. My "wiring" kept me distant. We did not know then what I know now; Aspergers wired. It was a perfect set up, my life. They both worked, and I had the house to myself. It is most likely the only way I survived; them, too. When they came home, I retreated to my room. Here we are on our wedding day. It was a sweet day.

Pieced & Quilted

God, pick up the pieces. Put me back together again. You are my praise! Jeremiah 17:14

In every experience, I praise God for the intimacy of connectivity with the Holy Spirit, who came alive in my being when I accepted Christ as my Savior. I am not of this world but called to it with purpose.

There are beautiful gifts that I unwrap with each new day through those that God places alongside me as I journey. I am called to connectivity. Yes, it is a sweet gift. It is my desire to encourage others and to pray specifically for the needs that are placed on my heart.

I am not perfect. I am a sinner redeemed. I have been broken, and I will face uncertainty again. God will pick up the pieces and will put me back together. He surrounds me with the scraps of beauty found in cherished friendships, pieced and quilted by the Master's hand!

I am blessed!

A precious friend, Susan, took on the task of piecing and quilting Ushka's Scarves for me. Silky is not a quilter's friend. She tackled it, and it is perfect.

Bouncing Ball

Do you remember songs on TV where you followed the bouncing ball with the words? An early classic is shared below to Shortenin' Bread. My Mammy was my Cranny. She was a very good cook, and she could throw things together in a snap. There was always some kind of cake in the old metal electric lidded skillet (repurposing before there was the word repurpose). Always enjoyed her shortenin' bread.

Invasive

I broke down and bought a Passion Plant this spring; It is an invasive plant. Ours is doing well, and I have enjoyed watching the blooms bust forth each day. Today, I stuck this dead limb into the ground as an additional climbing post for it. The tendril was a good six inches from reaching it. As I watched it this afternoon, it reached over and did this in about 30 minutes.

DSCN2447e

"More than the weeping for Jazer I will weep for you, O vine of Sibmah! Your tendrils stretched across the sea. They reached to the sea of Jazer; Upon your summer fruits and your grape harvest. The destroyer has fallen. Jeremiah 48:32

Satan is invasive. We must remain alert so that the tendrils of sin don't tighten around our hearts, our lives.
