First Baptist Plainview (FB.PLV) has a long, rich history of saving souls. The church began in 1890, 129 years ago. This photo, found in the Fair Theater is of the Men's Sunday School Class of 1942.
Just thirteen years later, I entered this fellowship as an infant. I was saved when I was six, baptized when I was seven. I attended Sunday School and had wonderful teachers who allowed me to flourish. My youth years were spent with serving opportunities. God delivered my future husband to our youth fellowship, and we were married at FB.PLV forty-four years ago this May. Our children were born into this church of believers and saved. We have prayed for people, and people have prayed for us. This brings me to sixty-four, the age I am now.
I remember when I worked as the children's director that we had an Adult 1 department. We teased that it was the last department before we moved to the house with the pearly gates. I'm there Y'all.
God has richly blessed me in my faith walk within this body of disciples. As I have entered the reflective stage of my life's journey, Gods blessings just seem to get greater.
In 2 Samuel 3:9b we read, "Speak God, I'm your servant, ready to listen. " I might add the words, "and see." to this.
There is no question that God loves children; his children were designed with inclusion without regard to labels the world attaches; age included. Realistically, I know that one day, sooner than not, I will cease to live within this great shell God has provided me and I will enter into Beaulah Land, sweet Beulah Land, my heaven, my home forever more.
It is not by chance that God has given me the gifts of connectivity with infants, toddlers, children, youth, and adults of all ages. They enrich my walk with Him.
One of my prayers has been to see a new generation of Godly young people to assure me that the world is going to be okay. He hears my prayers. He answers them with great hope.
I want to share what I often get to witness when I worship. Two girls. Two girls who love the Lord. They sing praises; they clap, their eyes speak joy.
These two girls don't realize right now the ministry impact they are having, but already, God is at work in their lives! Is he blessing me through their lives? Yes. Coincidence? No!
When we trust God to allow others to be used to enhance the lives of those he connects, we are the ones blessed. God IS, God created us with exceptionality to bring forth the Good News, the Light of the World, our bright future!
