Yup, this wind is not fun. It isn't even the kind of wind we typically have here that people always say, "That's why I moved." It is fierce wind. It is consistent and strong. It is not as bad as it could be, no it is not! So, onward and upward.

When it warms up tomorrow, and the wind dies down, I will start putting the new cushions out and bring the plants out of their safety into the sunshine! Here is the cushions pattern along with an estate sale find that I have repurposed as a bird feeder.

I found some really fun decorative pillows at It's A Girl Thing, Too! next to the Brew, and can't wait to pick them up and get them outside, as well!

I wish I had this car still. I enjoyed it! It was green with green interior. Sweet!

If you look directly behind my car, where the brown car and the red pickup are, you will see the home of the Duncans, my second home. Lots of time Debby and I spent back and forth between these two growing up spots. Many good times!

Today our local grand sisters rode the Hike & Bike Trail from west Plainview to east Plainview. They hit a detour just east of the cemetery.

We need a bridge in a few places along the trail. They made it across. 

They took the high road.

They reached their destination. Whew!

Fresh Find: Sweet From My Garden Hummel figurine!

Sometimes songbirds will stand on one leg to warm themselves or to switch back and forth between legs if a surface is hot. As I watched this Robin this evening, he seemed to have just one leg. I never saw another leg in flight or perch.

While it seemed to have one leg, if it was, in fact, one-legged, it was still singing a beautiful song praising its Maker. It is an overcomer!

Proverbs 20:30 Stripes that wound scour away evil and strokes reach the innermost parts.

We must remember that Jesus is there to shine us up and our response should be to share what we have learned as we become overcomers, too!

Fresh Find: 

It is finished, deep cleaning our house is all done! We clean for it to get dirty again like we are born to die. There are some things that are just going to happen whether we accept it or not. A house is going to get dirty, and we are all born and begin the process of death. Both are dirty. One with dust and one with sin that determines our eternity. It is our choice to listen to John 19:30...

“It is finished!”  These words were the final words in the redemption of humankind. 

When I think about sin, I think about forgiveness. God does not forgive my sins because he loves me. God forgives sin because of the death of Jesus Christ. God could not forgive us in any other way than through his Son. His plan!

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Jesus came to die.He came to redeem me. He came to redeem you. It was God's plan, and through the death of Jesus, he was exalted as Savior. In his resurrection, he returned to his Eternal home at the right hand of God.

He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. Romans 4:25

I'm glad that it is finished and that I am in a loving relationship with the Lamb of God; who was, who is, and who is to come, 

All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast--all whose names have not been written in the Lamb's book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world. Revelation 13:8

I may be a footnote instead of a header in the Book of Life, and the content has some scars, but I am one blessed lady. I hope you feel the same!

Fresh Find: Be Still & Know. Truth!

I have discovered in my life that it doesn't matter what I think. No one listens, and Satan loves it. He works both ends of the equation. Because I have a "sixth sense" with my Aspergers wiring, I will get a feeling, and I follow it up through prayer to discover the One true source. I discern, and yet, no one listens, and nothing changes. I've been trying to figure this out for most of my adult life. I'm trying to figure out the purpose of this process. If no one is listening, then I suppose I am thankful for my protection. God listens, and I pray.

One of my favorite rooms is our sunroom. It is full of special gifts from special blessings and I enjoy the art there, too. Today it was cleaned top to bottom, windows inside and out. On moves the deep cleaning machine! Tonight, it rests!!!

Fresh Find: Fun MOM tattoo!

The squirrel whisperer is yelling! Do you know that I loathe squirrels? I understand how adorable they are to watch scamper across the fence or a park or up a tree. If they would mind their business of burying and eating nuts that would be one thing, but they don't. They get all up in my business and cost us money. Believe me; they are doing damage where you see them. They are fury-tailed rats!

This is what I discovered today...

The traps are set and the powder they discover inside will deter them from this spot. I was hoping to not need new cushions until next season. Guess I will start looking! Ugh!

Fresh Find: Dead squirrel gift! Today, this is funny!!!

I happened upon the documentary, Is Genesis History? today. It was so very interesting and thought provoking. I certainly recommend you watch it.

I also watched the movie, Lion. I had wanted to see it for some time. It was a very hard movie for me to watch. Lots of pain and that hurts. A happy ending though!

In July 1994, I was called on a mission trip to the Ukraine. I celebrated my birthday there that year. The people were so kind, and I still cherish the gifts they gave me. I was overwhelmed, to say the least. Nadia, our interpreter, gave me two hand-painted spoons, a decorative pin, and I was given a couple of lacquered boxes and a lovely trivet from others on the team. While sharing in a home, the family took down their hand-cut circles made from wood room divider and presented it to me. Misha, on the left, was our driver.

I hold dear all of the heart gifts they gave me that day. Special people. I stay in touch with a few still. We have several Pysanky eggs and nesting doll sets, too. Oh, and an amazing blue cobalt tea set. Wonderful memories!

Fresh Find: I like this Ukranian Petrykivka comb.

Several thoughts are running through my mind this evening. One is this. If each of us would embrace our disability (we all have one), then we would be open to God's transformation of our lives to his service. The world would be a better place.

Another thought is that when family strikes with hurtful words, it is important to forgive. To forgive doesn't create inclusion.

And, the mind stirs the pot of rebellion. 

Romans 8:6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

In my deep cleaning, I am having a deep conversation with God. Today was spent in my office/laundry room. Cleaning a few hats, techie things, and more cherished things than one heart should enjoy. Feeling very blessed!
