Happy

In 2003, a bright cheery-eyed girl bounced into the second grade Sunday School class at First Baptist Church. Her brown hair and new tooth smile drew you to her instantly. She wasn't very sure about a lot of things as I found out in our talks. One thing she was sure of though was her desire to be happy!

One discussion that I vividly remember us having and laughing about was the "Michelle" song by the Beatles. Michelle, ma belle. These are words that go together well. My Michelle. And she said, "Michele with one "l" :) And, that was that.

Michele had a way of not letting go and she continually revisited her second-grade teachers for many years, always with a smile and a hug.

A few years later Michele's sweet brother, Trey, promoted into the 2nd grade Sunday School room. Mrs. Kaufman and Mrs. Wall, once again were blessed with another "happy" Waller child. Trey has the same sweet & happy spirit; the Waller way.

(I am purposefully not posting his 2nd grade Sunday School picture for his privacy. I have it and it is adorable. Love me some Trey-boy)

Please pray for Trey's testimony as God prepares the way for him in the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years ahead.

Everyone has a special story, journey, something to share about the weaving of the Waller family in their lives. While we were away this weekend, it was a source of comfort to see so many sharing their love for this family. God is good and in our valley he brings us out stronger. We are homesick, but he provides a way.

Colossians 3:12  Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience ...

Michele was chosen as God's to share compassion, kindness, humility, meekness and patience. In her Salvation, she found peace and her happy!

Nature

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet, their voice goes out to all of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. Psalm 19:1-4

When I look at nature I am reminded of the three chapters in our amazing picture book; heaven, earth, and sea. The nature book has a first page and to me it starts with Heaven. Heaven opens up the beauty of the other two. There are no words, only knowledge through the emotional revealing of the infinite Glory of God.

God has blessed me in my worship time with him as I am honored to see things in a unique way, take a few pictures and share them with others in hopes they will enjoy and be blessed, as well.

Rain

Well, this has been an evening of rain, rain, rain, and more rain. In 2011, we were in the midst of a bad drought and I wrote this:

RAIN

 Rain, rain, don't stay away.

We hurt your feelings the other day.

We asked you to come another time.

When we should have not even whined!

We were wrong to be so selfish.

Now we're in a drought of a mess-ish!!!

Please forgive us in your heart.

Rain, rain we want you to start!

Sprinkle, sprinkle, drops fall down.

Refresh your people all around!

And, it is raining! I'm guessing about 6-7 inches in our area so far tonight. Here is a picture before the rain started today. Fluffy white!

Eyes To See

For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise, they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.

But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it. Matthew 13:15-17

In His Hands by M. Rich

When I first started talking about my life of faith, it was attached the "in His hands" phrase. It still is. My blog is titled, in His hands. Once God led me to start sharing his love for us through the camera lens, the theme of that gift was extended to include, eyes to see.

The bottom line is everything I am able to do comes from God. Anything that I might ever do that garners recognition is from him. Everything never seen is an open willingness to be his vessel, cracked as I am.

Friday, I order a dozen wedding cake cupcakes, un-iced,  from Cupcake Cottage in Plainview. I so love wedding cake and rarely can I wrap my brain around getting to a wedding. So, I decided that I would just treat myself. I've had two so far. Well, gotta go. I'm having the 3rd one now! Yum!!!

Regime

DSCN6192e

First let me say, thank you to the families of those who lost their loved ones fighting for my freedoms!!! Memorial Day 2015!

When my mother passed away, I decided I wanted to try a few things to improve my aging health choices. Since my mother died from pancreatic cancer and my brother died from colon cancer I knew that I needed to be more progressive and aggressive if I wanted to change my chances of not dying from these types of cancer. My father died from heart disease, and I tend to be more like him in personality, but my mother and I were twins in so many ways. Same height, same weight, same shoe size, same clothing size, same sleep habits, same nervous energy, etc. So, my focus is on trying a few things just to see. At the very least I hoped I would feel better overall.

I have all of my regular tests that are needed for someone my age. I have a colonoscopy every three years because of the family history and do have the type of polyps that are cancerous. Thank goodness we have this test and method of removal! There is no early warning test for pancreatic cancer that I am aware of.

I have had an extreme bone loss that is normal for a small boned redhead that is fair complected and took a once a month pill for this for several years just to maintain that level.

So, I started out my new regime with two prunes every day. Lucky for me, I like prunes. They really are very tasty. The texture often gets to people but overcoming that is worth the results. When I went back in for my bone density test, they were amazed that my bones had improved greatly, and I no longer needed the prescription medication. They wanted to know any changes. Yes, two prunes a day. Of course, we know prunes help regulate bowel, as well. So many health benefits!

I decided to add one teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar each day to help purify my system. We have a "purifying sprayer" that kills bad things before it goes into our system and as we age it slows down and stress turns it off because the brain's needs must be met before the sprayer's. Makes no sense, right? Well, read up on it.

The big cancer info talks about the alkaline balance vs. cancer. So, I decided to use pure (all natural) baking soda to rinse with and allow a small trace into my system.

I take one triple strength fish oil 1400 along with this prunes, vinegar and baking soda regime.

I was taking Ambien to help me sleep & God led me to stop taking it. I loved that pill. To be honest, I sleep better now. It has been three months. I don't go to bed easily, but once I do I find I can go to sleep. I am on no prescription medicines at all.

Another area that I am trying to avoid is preservatives. This is almost impossible to avoid totally in today's world. I am avoiding drinking water from plastic water bottles because of the danger there. It is the shipping and sitting on docks in the heat that create the hazard. I enjoyed my little Ozarka's! I am drinking tap water. Depending on the great City of Plainview here! (getting ready to do a water test and comparison. Will blog my findings.)

Anyway, this is what I have tried to create a change in my health. I tell people that when I'm 120 and toothless and they interview me from a drone to ask me how I have lived so long, I will raise my hands and say my faith, my prunes, my vinegar, baking soda, fish oil and, of course, my determination...I mean dermatologist! LOL

I do have Squamous Cell Carcinoma that we continually fight. It was "tripped" by my short time in a tanning bed. Not everyone will have this issue, but it is kind of like alcohol, you don't know you are addicted till you are. I had no idea I was a candidate for this type of skin cancer. I'm a sun lover, and now I'm a shade prisoner. Just my warning to you.

I feel better. I need to get my exercise plan in order, but overall, I'm feeling great.

Cousins

Yesterday Clinton and his brother Bert drove to the homeland, the Temple, Oklahoma area for the Glasgow family reunion.

Often it has been held in Duncan but this year it was held in Commanche. I know those who could attend enjoyed it.

I know these cousins did!!!

The Mill

Mill

My grandfather, Hugh Robert Etter, was an early Plainview electrician. He wired the Mill in 1928.  When he wired a building, he found a place to sign it and date it. I wish I could look inside the mill to see if I could find it!!!

On the back of this picture, he writes The Mill. Where I am now about to finish wiring. A five-month job. All conduit work. Five motors. 1273 outlets.
