The word that really caught my attention was usher. Through the acceptance of Jesus we are ushered into the very presence of God. He goes before us.

“Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord: for He is raised up out of His holy habitation.” – Zechariah 2:13

When we silence our flesh we are ushered into the presence of God.

Hebrews 4:14-16 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need

God’s presence on earth is in the life of every believer through his Holy Spirit.

Have you ever found out how to hold on to God's peace?

Sometimes it comes like a bird flying through an open door landing on my hand. When I have this peace I am transported to the very heart of God's grace.

Then, anxiety, stress, worry, doubt, flood back in and the frightened bird flies away.

How can we keep this peace as humans? This is the million dollar question! We can say to stay in the Word, be close to him, and yet, we are human. I desire to always have His peace...I'm trying. I'm not wired to find it easily. I must face Satan head-to-head on this each day. It is WAR baby!!!

Here are a few of my "calming" scriptures...

John 16:33: I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world."

John 14:27: "I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid.

John 14:1: "Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.

Isaiah 12:2: See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory."

A quart of paint and all of the nail holes have been touched up at my mother's house. Whew!

What a weird weather day. We had a foggy morning and a weird rather warm, muggy afternoon. I thought it would surely storm. I guess it did somewhere.

Bowling tonight...not so much. I bowled like I had never had bowling in high school AND college! LOL

This is a fun picture of my mom from July 1953...two years before I was born. She is in what was called the "little house" behind 1006 Nassau Street in Plainview . Texas. Of course she is dressed perfectly!!!

Fresh Find: I love this. The only problem is the sign would be skewed from my biggest part. LOL So fun.

Today as I was trimming the Moneywart along the edging in the back I was thinking about how faithful God has been to my prayer requests throughout my life. He never answered like I thought, always better. Some requests aren't answered but I know they will be. God has never failed me. He is truth to me.

Throughout my teen and adult life, this song I learned as a youth at First Baptist Church, has reminded me of his truth! Of course the Christian easy rock group that sang it then does not have a YouTube version posted.

Fresh Find: I think this would be so cuddly warm!

This picture is circa 2006, BW (before wrinkles). A few Theta Delphin sisters went on a Cali trip. Here with are with a "famous" chef at his restaurant. All of us a very wrinkle-less! What a fun time we had because we weren't weighed down with wrinkles. LOL

I think every woman would say that she prefers the BW (before wrinkles) look. This AW (after wrinkles) stuff is annoying to say the least. It is what it is so I will do my best to accept them with a smile. At least I lead the pack in something!!! ;o)

Fresh Find: I have a thing for radios. Really like this one.

Look at this little chunker (our firstborn). Weighing in at birth, 9 pounds 11 ounces! These are his Wall grandparents. I'm blessed that I got to know them. They were always very kind.

Fresh Find: November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month. Let's all buy these and use them the month of November in honor or memory of a Pancreatic Cancer warrior!

While we visited the grand-sisters last weekend I received an honor that was most humbling. If you attended our American Cancer Society Cotton Barons Ball (HUGE SUCCESS) then you saw this in the program.

I certainly do not share this to brag. I am HONORED and BLESSED to work with the American Cancer Society and our Hale County group to build awareness, educate, assist, and raise money for the programs and research.

I'm most humbled to be honored along with my dear friends, Ruby Henderson, Shining Star Award recipient; RaeAnne King, Relay for Life Award; and Alice Sawayer, ACS Cancer Care Award recipient. I can vouch for them. They are each BEYOND AMAZING in their heart service. 

Because I have lived many years, 58, to be exact, and I have volunteered with so many, young and old, through these years, I can tell you that there are many, many, more deserving of the honor bestowed on me.

Plainview is its people and their willingness to make a difference. It isn't the recognition, but the gift of lending a helping hand, making a difference, being a team player, that makes it happen! Thank you God for allowing me so many opportunities to try and make a difference!!!

Fresh Find: My grandmother would love to have made this afghan. This is beautiful!

Today has been a little bit rough. My Mother's bathroom no longer smells like the sweet "Mother fragrance" I have known my whole life. Since her death, I have been at her home nearly every day.  Just yesterday, her perfume that had lingered was no longer in the air of her bathroom. Just kind of a sad thing to me.

Her "things" have been going out and I have been really okay with that. Estate sale time and no matter where the pretties land, I know I hold the memories. 

We are so blessed!!!
