I only met his Grandmother Glasgow 1 or 2 times.  His Grandmother Wall, I had the opportunity to know some better.  I really did like her!  I suream glad I did have the privilege of knowing her.  I wish I had had more time with his Grandmother Glasgow.

Fresh Find: This GREAT dress!

I remember the summer before my junior year.  I stayed a week or so with my dad's sister, Aunt Pet (Mary Dayton Holloway) and Ernie in Midland, Texas. I'm sure my parents did it to keep me out of trouble.  LOL 

I had more fun.  I listened to their record collection, old groups from the 40s and 50s...love that sound.  Went to the beauty shop with Aunt Pet and she took me shopping.  I tasted my first alcohol there.  My parent's would have died if they had know this.  They actually talked about the importance of drinking responsibly.  The only drink I remember was a Salty Dog.  I do not enjoy the taste of any alcohol...at least anything I have ever tried.  I just laugh thinking about them doing this.  I wonder if they did it with their daughter???

During my time there I got to get on a "machine" in the spare room.  I did not know what it was, but you leaned back on it.  I remember thinking it felt wonderful.  After the fact I found out it was an early inversion table. 

I have many back and neck issues.  Lately the pain was really getting on my last nerve!!!  So, I invert again only on our own machine. 

We got it today & I got it all put together.  We bought a massage accessory that fits the length of the table, too.  I have been on it three times and I honestly think it is helping.  It is so relaxing to me to hang upside down.  I have known it ever since that first time over 40 years ago!

Chrissa asked our Miss "A" what she wanted to be for Halloween.  She could pick anything she wanted.  She chose Olivia.

Fresh Find:  Acorns are falling from our Oak Trees. I like this one better!

I always wanted a pair of charcoal gray felt penny loafers.  My mother said no.  Her reason was that they just flap up and down.

Penny loafers, well loafers in general, are a must have for this season.  I found this black one that I like.  It isn't felted though.  I wonder if I'll ever get those shoes?  LOL

Sunday while sitting in our worship time at FBC-PLV I was reminded of the awesome talents and gifts that others are blessed with.  I was created with very little that will ever be very much.  Don't get me wrong, I stand firm in all that I know God has given me to use to serve him.  But lets be honest, I'm not the best at anything, not even very good at most things, yet I can appreciate best and good when I see it.  I'm good at that! ;o)

We were hearing about the crowns that believers will get in heaven.

1 Peter 5:2-7  "Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away. Submit to God, Resist the Devil. Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “ God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Revelation 3:11  Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.

So, it got me to thinking...

I'm no one special.  I'll never be grand in what I can do, but if I can just touch the hem of His garment, my life will have served HIS purpose.  It is in the little things I can do, however good or not good, and my heart-place when doing them that matters to him.

Fresh Find: I think this would be a great game to enjoy!!!

John Hugh Dayton is 2 in 50 in this picture...1950...5 years before I was born in 1955.  This is our dad and mom, young newlyweds. 

There world was not complete until I came along!  LOL 

The first child has total attention until the next child comes, in our case...7 years!  Talk about a spoiled little boy!  LOL

I was a horrible baby.  I'm still a horrible baby! ;o)  Gotta love me though!

I've had a relaxing Saturday of ready and enjoying a most amazing fall day.

Our Oak Trees have produced gazillions of acorns this year, mostly tinier than normal ones.  We were told it was their way of dealing with the drought.  The squirrels have enjoyed them no matter what size.  Makes walking in the grass barefoot pretty painful!  Pretty though.

We do still need rain.  I'm expecting some soon for our neighborhood :O)
