Adelyn was a trooper when we did our little photo fun morning recently.  I have a coat and hat that my mother made me from my dad's Navy coat.  She made my brother a coat, too.  Anyway, I have wanted a fun picture of Miss "A" in it.  It is most likely a size 3.  LOL  We will get her in it again, but I wanted a picture of her in it to show her Nanny.

Fresh Find-Fresh Find-Fresh Find is this cute little glasses storage case.  Too cute!

What would you think?

What would you think if I sang out of tune, would you stand up and walk out on me?

For some reason this song just popped into my head and it got me to thinking.  I stand up before man to say I cannot carry a tune in a bucket.  I love to worship God through music though and I know he loves to hear me.  HE does not walk out on me.  He is with me, he has my heart, and loves to hear me. :O)

Adelyn hasn't said anything about my horrible singing skills either.  Although, I know she will one day! LOL  I have my little song that I have been singing to her since her birth.  This way she knows it is me.  It is our song.

Adelyn is the most beautiful girl, beautiful girl, beautiful girl.  Adelyn is the most beautiful girl, beautiful girl in the world!

I tell you it sounds bad most all the time, but I just keep singing it to her. :O)

I guess my thoughts are drifting towards our shallowness as people.  If someone sings badly do we move away from them?  What if someone smells badly or dresses badly?  What if they have a deformity?  What if they are a little different?

I really have to work on being compassionate.  1 John 3:17 says, "If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?"

My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will make evident to me, to open my eyes, to God's plan for me to serve!

We had set up a photo session while Adelyn was here as a surprise for her parents when she returned home.  The photographer became ill and so Adelyn and I had a blast creating or own fun shots.  Not anywhere near professional but, with Adelyn...everything is precious!

I love her sweet expression in this one!!!  She is a doll! :O)

My Fresh Find are these fun boots!

It is quite here at our house again.  Adelyn and I flew back to her mommy and daddy last night.  We have a little booster chair that attaches to my broom.  The trip was good.  We hit a little wind near the turbines, but after that it was clear sailing.

We landed with a whole lotta Love (as in field). We found us a parking spot for the broom (in a closet) and trekked through the terminal.

As we made our way to the spot where parents must stop...and wait the most amazing thing occurred!

If Adelyn knew how to run she would have.  She did a bouncy, side-to-side, kind of toddle, while slinging her arms all around and squealing as she ran into her mommy's arms, then daddy's.  I had prayed for her to know who they were and be excited.  Boy, did God bless us on this one!  I wish someone had filmed it!

I spent the night and watched Adelyn today there because she does not have Tuesday daycare.  This evening, I grabbed my broom and headed home.  I nearly fell off over some big old Texas ranch, but a little sleepy slip on a broom works wonders in waking up this witch! LOL

Here are a few pictures to bore you with ;o)

Our broom was late getting there so we cleaned...

We stopped along the way for some much needed play!

We did have a fun time with our sweet grand and it sure is quite again around here, but she is home and she was excited!  She was so happy to be in her play area and sleep in her bed.  That is good.  God is good!

My Fresh Find is this ice cube tray for water bottle tubulars!

A friend suggested that I read the book Petey by Ben Mikaelsen.  I suggest you read it, too.  It certainly made me stop and think.

Our sweet girl is going home today.  I am so excited for her parents to be reunited with her!  We have had a ball.  She is the perfect sweetheart!

My Fresh Find would make a great gift.  Everyone needs a key storage cabinet!!!

Music Appreciation...

I will tell every parent of young children to go straight music.  If you must do a sport, let them learn golf.

That is my opinion from what I have seen. Oh, it is good to let them try other sports, but don't sacrifice music in that process.

Music appreciation  is something they will always need and use as an adult.  Golf is the one sport that executives use to entertain clients.

I know there are those who will disagree with me and that is okay.  I love basketball, football, soccer, baseball, skateboarding, softball, tennis, and all the others.  I appreciate all forms of dance and the martial arts. I know many great people who have experienced them.  I know athletes who wish they had some type of music appreciation; either playing an instrument or singing.

I have just seen too much in my years that made me form this opinion.

Adelyn loves music.

She enjoys golf, too.  Of course she loves just about anything we let her try :O)

My Fresh Find is this fun frame your own print package.  :O)

Park Play...

We took Adelyn to the Thomas Blvd. Park.  There is a new play structure there with several slides.  She loved it.  She could have played there for a long time...we allowed 30 minutes. Maybe we will go back before she leaves!!!

On no...the week has just flown by.  I am excited for her to be reunited with her mommy and daddy though.  I know they have missed her. :O)

At least we have just a little more time with her before she goes home. :O)  Nothing big is planned, just more love and hugs! LOL

I wonder how long we will be at the airport this time?  Last time it was an all day affair.  Plane had issues.  Flew in a part.  Did not work.  Flew in a plane from Colorado.  You know the song & dance! ;o)  It wasn't so bad really...Adelyn is such a trooper!  Southwest was more than kind to this old lady and the precious little girl.

Maybe this trip will go much more smoothly for us though! Of course, NOW she is mobile...that could get very interesting ;o)

Well, until then we will play and know that there will be blessings all around in what happens!

Today my Fresh Find is something that I think lots of people need.  I just wonder if it will work for something as heavy as cell phones, cameras, etc.??? Says if it weighs under a, I bet it would work for lots of valuable things!

Since Adelyn has been here I have really learned to get things done before she gets up, while she naps, or after she goes to sleep for the night.  Time management!

She has been so fun!  Honestly, I was worried about her sleeping well, eating well, and having a good time.  She has been such a blessing!  I believe she has been happy, too.  Although, she doesn't cry for her mommy & daddy, she does mention that they are in Yawk! LOL

She will visit her cousin Macee soon and her other grandparents.  Of course Macee is who her ears perk up for when I tell her!  I pray she does as well for them as she does for us!!!  She is such a happy child!

Only 3 days left to love on her this trip.  I will be sad to take her home, but excited for her to see her mommy & daddy, too!

Here is a shot from today...

My Fresh Find today is a great Fall-time cooking helper!!! Make fun!

Let's go fishing...

Today would be a great day to be out on the lake.  I bet we could find some fish that are hungry to take the bait!  The sky is overcast and there is a hint of coolness in the air.

Growing up I fished a lot.  I went fishing with my grandparents and my friend Debby Duncan and I went fishing with her parents on weekends, too. Don't just look at a Plymouth, STEP on it! Only Debby might remember us take an old piece of driftwood and sunging this jingle over and over on one fishing outing!

I'm not a patient enough person to be a great fisherman, but I caught my share of anxious fish! LOL

After we were married we would go fishing with Clinton's parents during reunions and such. Somehow we just don't fish much anymore.

Speaking of Clinton's is Adelyn with Grandpa Wall.  This is as close as it gets right now :O)

Have I told you the story of one cool, dark night when we were at a lake. It was my grandfather, Bo, my cousin, Janis, and me out in the motorboat.  We had a lantern on the boat.  We were fishing and I asked to turn the lantern on so I could see the lake.  My grandfather wisely said that I did not really want him to do that.  He explained that the Water Moccasins would come to the light.  I could not imagine how all the moccasins got into the water.  I begged and so he turned it on and to my surprise we were suddenly surrounded by SNAKES!  This is when I discovered that not ALL moccasins were worn on your feet! LOL

My Fresh Find is this pen-sized fishing rod.  Always be prepared! :O)

I love the word, 'Grace'. When you look up grace in the dictionary, it has a long list of descriptions.  The definitions are very varied.  It must be a grand word!

I saw a little book on eBay that I wanted to browse through so, I bought it.  Sayings of Grace, is a book about Grace.  Grace learned the English language, but her life was full of memorable semantics.  This hand-created book is full of misused words that the family of Grace remembered her using. Do we ever misuse words?  LOL

When she thought someone was listening to her conversation she said, "They were 'earsdropping' (eavesdropping)."  or... Grace was offering some tea-cookies to friends and she said, "Have a 'pinafore'(petit-four)."

What a treat this book has been to browse through!!!

We have another little book, Grace Before Meals.  This is a day-by-day 'give grace' book.

Today's grace is: "Thy gifts toward us speak fervently of Thy love.  Grant, Lord, that we by our lives may in some small measure bespeak the gratitude that is within us, through Jesus Christ. Amen"

I like the definition of grace that says, ease.  God loves us with ease...

We love this special gift from God with ease...

Grace Greater Than Our Sin

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary’s mount outpoured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.

Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold,
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
Points to the refuge, the mighty cross.

Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide.
What can we do to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,
Brighter than snow you may be today.

Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?

Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

My Fresh Find is this horn...just in the case that you can't hee-aaa-rrr me! LOL

Intellectually Eager...

I, Ushka, have decided that this girl is intellectually eager.  It is amazing all she has learned since the last time we saw her AND in the short time she has been with us.  I'm not promising her mu-ma and dad-o will be as excited over her progress when she shows them! LOL

She is so good with puzzles and does not get frustrated quickly when she doesn't get it the first time.  She loves to keen-up!  She takes her shoes to "her" room and places them in the neat row of shoes (okay, she does have more shoes than she might need LOL). I put her socks in an old metal apple cookie jar and she LOVES getting socks out and putting them up!  So precious! She is such a joy.  We are blessed!

This new game, Boggle-Flash, looks like a Fresh Find that will be FUN!
