Take time...

Today we continued to have class reunion gatherings, but I took some time today to see what God had for me to see.  I was once again, blessed!

Accumulate...

I continue to find it amazing at how we can accumulate so much.  I have mentioned helping my mother to get ready for an estate sale for a friend to you.

Today we (pre-school committee) worked at church on the pre-school area.  Again, there was lotsa stuff!

When we don't stay organized, we over buy.  We have it, we just don't know where it is!!!  Then things get old and we have to throw them away...sound familiar?

We made a dent.  We will keep plugging along with our new childrens minister's guidance!  First pre-school, then children's, and then...the World!  Yeah!!!

.

Speaking of accumulate...we have quite an accumulation of pictures of our sweet Adelyn.  Every time we get pictures or I get to take pictures we see such a change.  Always beautiful and loved!!! Here she is with Uncle Chase.

I love God, I love my family, and I love my church.  First Baptist Church is not the church you might think it is; old and stuffy.  God is alive inside!!!  There is not one time that I enter this House of God that I am not led into worship with my God.

Dr. Hart is the best preacher that God has ever used to show me his plan for my life. Week after week, from the Word; God uses his servant.

Our choir is beyond amazing. From the praise band, to the orchestra, to the voices raised to the Most High, they bring me to worship.  I stand amazed at how God uses his servants!

The people.  As I watch the people, I see a Living God! All sizes and shapes with a desire to praise their Creator and grow in a relationship of Faith, Hope and Love.  They are serving.

I was born into First Baptist Church and I remain there because that is where God wants me to be.  I came to know the Lord as my personal Savior there and continue my personal journey with him with this body of believers.

Thank you First Baptist Church for your part in leading me into the most important decision I ever made, my Salvation in Jesus Christ.  God use me to serve you in my church and in my community.

Natural...

I finally got some new lotion.  I had bought one bottle of this at the Arts & Crafts show here in Plainview 2 years ago.  Did not see her booth last year and tried emailing them with no luck.  I finally called and with the help of Ruth Robillard (McDonald's Plainview & Lubbock fame, I was able to get this natural lotion purchased and delivered to our home!  I am excited.  It is unscented since I can't do many fragrances.  I have enjoyed this lotion very much!  Yay!!!

My mother's friend, Robert, cut me two roses today from the rose bush at the house where we they are preparing for an estate sale.  I told him there is nothing better than home grown roses, fruits & veggies!!!  These are beautiful and the smell is amazingly sweet! Ahhh, nature!

Me thinking aloud...

1 Corinthians 12-13

Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines. The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

.

In our 2nd grade Sunday School class I find that when all the children are there the class time seems to click.  When kids are missing there is a void.  It is a visual representation for us to see God using each child’s special gift and allowing purpose through their young lives within a small group setting like Sunday School. Oh how I pray for them to realize their special gifts and use them as vessels for the Lord.  The same is true for any age…those filled with the Spirit of the Lord are a vessel to be used for the Glory of God.  Note: God using us is a witness; it is the mirror of Christ.  What are others seeing in us?

Mark 12:30-31

And thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

I think that one of our biggest problems is worrying about what others are doing; if they are doing it right as in correct according to what we think!

In the verse above we find what we are to be doing: loving the Lord God with all that is in us and loving others.  We need to worry about how God will use us in every moment of every day.  When we are in that place, filled with the love of Jesus, he alone will help us love others, even the unlovable.

Psalm 11:2

For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart.

Now on this I will not say much.  Satan is alive and hard at work.  He hides in places we would never expect. He hides in the shadows of the soul; building on egos, through envy & lies, he waits to hurt the upright believer.

Ephesians 6:10-18

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

How mighty is our God!  We are not alone in the war; the war between the Word of God and the spiritual forces of evil in the dark places.  We are not alone! Who is with us? For me I choose Jesus; fill me, make me...you are the Potter's Hand!

My Fresh Find today are these recycling "vessels".  How orderly is this! LOL

Family foto...whaa-ha-ha!  Look at us.  I love the clothes!  We are such a cute family!  This was at an American Business Men's Club (AMBUC) convention.  I sure wish I had that color hair again and a face with no wrinkles or surgical scars!

Then this catchy theme song pops into my head...

Plainview . Texas is the place to be
Rural livin' is the life for me
Land spreadin' out so far and wide
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside

No, New York is where I'd rather stay
I get allergic smelling hay
I just adore a penthouse view
Darling I love you but give me Park Avenue

The chores, the stores
Fresh air, Times Square

You are my wife
Good bye city life
Plainview . Texas we are there!

What I want to be...

Family (2)

.

When I was little I must have wanted to be a school teacher.  We played school ALL the time and I was always the teacher, or most all the time the others let me teach.

The deal is that I have never, since that time, ever even thought about being a teacher.

Note: I admire teachers.  I think teachers who get excited to see kids learn is the most amazing thing!  I don't know if teachers realize it, but people CAN tell if you are there for the right reasons.  It shows.

Since I never wanted to be a teacher, what was it I wanted to be?  In college I loved geology.  All that dirt and layering was pretty interesting, but I never wanted to be a geologist.

I have thought about this many times, that I never wanted to "be" anything.  I've always wanted to serve, help others, etc.  Never felt a desire to be anything grandiose.

I'm pretty content with my career choices.  I've done quite a few things for someone who isn't overly book smart.  I know that God has led me to every place of service and has allowed me the opportunity to do good where I'm planted.

Someone once said that I have never really worked.  Hmmm, well, that could be true if you think of jobs in the traditional form.

Let's see; retail sales, stay-at-home-mom, first pull-out gifted and talented group at Edgemere, community volunteer, literacy council director, wedding coordinator, retail gift wrap queen, chamber of commerce interim executive director, owner of Arissa Designs (retired), & restaurant hostess.

I like change and like to go in and get things straightened out and up and working and then move on.  That's what I do best...organize, motivate; move, shake and grow it.

So, what do I want to be when I grow up?

Me...

Just as I am, without one plea,
but that thy blood was shed for me,
and that thou bidst me come to thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
