Ups & Downs...
Some thoughts today and what I saw...

Old, old tree...

Some days I feel like an old, old tree.  Now, you might think this is bad, but I think it is grand!

This tree is one of the oldest trees in Plainview.  It sits on the property where my grandparents lived all of their married lives. I have reached the age where I will soon be one of the people to have lived in Plainview the longest.

Once this tree was used to hoist motors up off the ground to work on them.  A heavy chain was thrown around the largest "v" in the tree.  The tree has, over time, healed itself from the intrusion.  God helps me as I face uncertainty.  He gives me what I need to help myself in these valleys of live to recreate wholeness.

The roots on this tree are the firm foundation for this tree.  Look at the size of the trunk!  Lots of great roots to hold this up!!!  How firm a foundation ye saints of the Lord, Is laid for your faith in his excellent word; What more can he say than to you he hath said? You, who unto Jesus, for refuge have fled.

A tree that has weathered many the storm.  Still alive!  Like me! :O)

My granddad built this TV antenna.  I climbed this many times just for fun as a child.  I'm thinking by looking at it that climbing it would NOT be wise today!

Strong Tower by Kutless

You are my strong tower
Shelter over me
Beautiful and mighty
Everlasting King
You are my strong tower
Fortress when I'm weak
Your name is true and holy
And Your face is all I seek

In the middle of my darkness
In the midst of all my fear
You're my refuge and my hope
When the storm of life is raging
And the thunder's all I hear
You speak softly to my soul
