Grace Slattery was a sweet woman who attended our church and took care of children in the nursery for years.  Her daughter, Betty Slattery [Huffine] was a sweet woman that I knew all my growing up years.  In this picture you find my mother, Lorena Etter [Dayton] with Betty and Grace.  Friends...

Yup, there is my brother John and his friends at his nursery school.  They were celebrating his 3rd birthday!!!

This is my mother, Lorena Etter [Dayton], in the late 40s.  She lived at 1006 Nassau Street in Plainview . Texas.  I'm not sure who built the house in the background, but I remember the John Thomas Boyd family living there. 

You can't tell they were poor from her neat self!  Their house was a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, little stucco job...with the wash room outside! 

We all grew up at 1006 Nassau at our Cranny & Bo's house.  What a fun neighborhood! What fun memories!!!

Today my personalized Fresh Find is just plain FUN!!! Personalized BOBBLEHEADS!!!  ROFLOL!!!

Either we do believe in the Bible as God's Word or we don't.  We can't pick and choose what we want to believe from it.  We can't change it in any way because if we believe it then we know it is God speaking. If we don't believe it is God speaking, then we need to pick another book to live by, say Alice in Wonderland or something!

For me I DO believe in the Bible.  I believe in God.  I believe that God loves us so much that he sent his only Son to us to save us. I believe that when we accept Jesus as our Savior that God allows us the Holy Spirit to guide us.  I believe God is a Mighty Father who disciplines and does not enable us.  Oh, how I know He loves those who walk with him!  How do I know?  The Bible tells me so!

Our forefathers placed God as the foundation of this country.  Either we do accept this or we don't.  If we do, then we are free to thrive here under His mighty hand.  If we don't, then we are free to fall down the rabbit hole into a fantasy world and move to another country. I don't think we have come this far by chance! 

In God We Still Trust!

Wowza!  This Fresh Find is awesome.  A portable DVD projector and boom-box all in one!  Has a great rating, too!

Today started off with my childhood friend sending me an email.  In the email she said that I was the most spiritual person she knows and would I please pray for someone.  She proceeded to tell me whom to pray for and the circumstance. 

I cannot think of a higher compliment than for someone to think I am spiritual.  I feel far from that I can assure you!!!

After I said my prayer for this precious woman, I went to my facebook prayer warriors.  Yes, there was an instantaneous lifting of prayers for a woman that no one knows, nor do they know the circumstances, but God knows!

There is a wonderful book entitled, When I Lay My Isaac Down, that I often give.  It is the most wonderful book of hope for those who are broken.

My prayer today is that God will take a brokenness of this magnitude and make it magnificent for his glory!

My Fresh Find  is this great butterfly tape.  Cute border, cute package wrap!

It isn't often that I rave about a book or suggest that a book be made into a movie, but Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman IS that book!

When I was reading this book the characters just came to life.  I could see the scenes unfolding before my eyes as if on the big screen.

This book was such a fun read and full of thoughts worth remembering!

This jewel of a book has just become my all time favorite happy ending book!

We visited our precious Adelyn this weekend.  Her parents are doing a wonderful job raising her.  She is amazingly fun!  Her little strong will is coming out and she is crazy smart (really!) :O) Added a few pictures from our trip in Adelyn's photo album if you want to look.

This old nursery rhyme is one I grew up knowing well.  When you are born with red hair you learn to be tough.  Not that it was always easy, but it was definitely a good thing.  God knew what he was doing.  He was preparing me.  I just love that about him!!!  He is such an awesome, awesome God!!!

This is me at one year of age.  I think the doll and I look oddly alike!  We still have the dress I have on here.  I'm at Anners (Clariece) and DJ's house.  They lived across the street from my grandparents, Lucy & Hugh Etter on Nassau Street. 

Looks like Anners was ironing her drapes!  Look, there is my sweet Marie's picture sitting on a table in front of the mantle.  I was just riding my little horse.  How cute was that?

I must say that all my memories of spending time with Anners and DJ were good.  I had fun there.
