My Fresh Find is the is great cashmere sweater.

I got a facebook message from Rachel McDonald.  She is the daughter of Mike and Mona McDonald that use to live in Plainview.  Rachel wrote saying she remembered, as a child, that I had a gold nugget on a chain that our kids cut their teeth on.  She talked about how funny it is what makes an impression on us.  She was curious about the necklace.  I told her I was planning on blogging about it and that was neat that we both were thinking about it!

So, yes, our two children cut their teeth on my gold necklace.  It has teeth marks or indentations all over it.  I tried to get a clear picture so you could see...but with not a ton of luck ;o)

For my Fresh Find today I am sharing this wonderful baby grab, teether, paci holder, toy...holder.  I really like the naturalness of this.

Ephesians 6:10-20  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.  Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

As I read this scripture it made me ask myself if I have on the full armor?  Do you?

I do know that I wish I had the memory to keep all the words of God in my head and thus my heart.  I admire those who can say them word for word. 

I strive to have my armor for battle on all the time in order to do what is right in the eyes of God.

It seems that when God is using me to serve the most that Satan is attacking my thoughts the most.  It is hard to not get down, to not lose hope.  It is my my steadfast belief in my salvation through Jesus Christ and the faith that God allows me through that gift of grace that gets me back up.

it is hard to remember a time before me. LOL  I feel like I've been around forever!  There was a time before though.  As I have been scanning our old family pictures I have been reminded of this.  I am not scanning every picture we have, but the ones that I feel led to copy instead.  I love this picture of our mother and father with John, my older and only brother.  I see our son in my dad in this picture.  So glad I came across it!!!

I spent a couple of hours today making some fun winter scarves to give to the children in the First Baptist Church's Coats for Kids day in November.  we hope to distribute 750 to 1000 coats that day.  Here are a few of the ones I made...

My birthday is in July.  I had either skating parties or swimming parties every year as I got older.  This was in 1965:

Love my mother's hair style! LOL  Look at her shoes...pretty great, huh?  We always had a fun time.  I thought about it again today.  I need to go get me some skates and go skating again!!!  I'll keep you posted on this little goal of mine ;o)

My Fresh Find is this rope-less jump rope.

Oh, today was a difficult day for our son.  He woke up to find his bestest friend had died.  His bestest friend was his Doberman dog, The Red Razor. 

Razor, as we called him, was a crazy dog.  He was silly, he was fun.  He was a very loved dog.  It is hard saying good-bye.  It is hard to watch my oldest hurt, too.

We buried Razor in a beautiful open field.  A lovely resting place.

Goodbye Razor.  We loved you.  You will be missed!

My Fresh Find is this great trivet.  I like it because you can fit any pan!

As I have lived my life I have witnessed so much destruction and even then our God is at work. 

I snapped these pictures of a crumbling building this week.  I am never sure why I take the pictures I take.  I try to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's nudge and I'm always amazed at how God uses the pictures.  Take a look at these:

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

This beautiful structure was built by hands of a craftsman.  Because it has not known love and care its beauty is going away.

We are God's workmanship.  We are created in Christ Jesus to do good things in HIS name.  Our friend Ruth Williams met her Creator today. When I think about Ruth, this scripture comes to mind:

If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31-32

Ruth hid God's Word in her heart.  She shared the Word through her actions.  She knows the truth and the truth has set her free! Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound.

A cousin in Christ snapped these pictures.  I asked for her permission to use them because they show us a glimpse of the love God has for us and shares with us in HIS creation:

God's beauty is all around us.  Ruth was that beauty that God wove into the lives that she touched. 

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3

Adelyn, our granddaughter, got to meet Ruth.  I will cherish that time when I got to see my dear precious Ruth hold our granddaughter.  I am full of blessings that overfloweth. One day Adelyn will know about Ruth.  My prayer is that she [Adelyn] will grow in grace in the example that Ruth Williams shared with so many.

I can say with certainty two things about Ruth.  She was a child of God and she loved her family.  She was passionate about them!

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 1 Timothy 6:6-7

But, Ruth left so much for us to learn from...

But we all, as with unveiled face we see as in a mirror the Lord’s glory reflected, are changed into the same likeness from one degree of glory to another. 2 Corinthians 3:18

My Fresh Find today is this great pet toy.  Seems kind of strange that I would write about Ruth's new home in glory and then share a pet toy.  It isn't strange to me at all because Ruth and I shared pet stories and enjoyed laughs over them!

Here is our car from 1964.  A beauty!  A real 'classic' of a car, LOL!!!  The other 'classic' of 1964 is my brother.  Isn't this a great picture?  Kind of a Leave it to Beaver shot, don't you think?

Sometimes it would be nice to have a small little bag to clip on a loop to carry the phone or device in.  My Fresh Find is all that.

There is nothing like good summer tomatoes.  Jim & Norma West are always so good to share their crop with this city girl and her hubby.  Jim called and told me to come pick.  Boy did I!  I'm making another batch of tomato soup.  Added one of his peppers for flavor.  Hope it isn't too hot!  Look at these little beauties...
