Oh Baby...

Oh, baby...I was once a baby!  Now I find that amazingly wonderful.  Coming full circle is quite a trip.  I remember bits and pieces...mostly from others telling me or flipping through pictures.

Here is my dear friend Marie holding me, Phyllis Dayton Wall, at 2 months of age.  Judy, her best friend. I'm sure played a role in my early days, too.  They did a good job nurturing me, you know lugging me around on their hips while they played house!  Love it!  Love this picture and love me some Marie!

Now we are both the "same" age and friends.  Isn't friendship just grand?  We don't see each other often, but our love is deep!

"Green" goes up on the price and this rug is worth it.  Look at the time involved in making this t-shirt rug, my Fresh Find today.  Look at the other items from this Etsy store.  Detail is awesome!

Getting old...

Yes, I personally am getting old, but that is not what I'm talking about here.  Mowing the yard twice a week and watering flowers every day is getting old.  Oh, don't get me wrong...I'm still enjoying a trimmed yard and beautiful blooms...just tired of taking care of it!

This is why God created seasons.  I love the Spring and Summer seasons.  I love digging in the dirt and planting.  I even love mowing, edging and cleaning up after.  Some have teased and said I should get goats to take care of the mowing!  I am the "goat" for our yards!

I am ready for Fall.  I'm ready for cooler days and nights.  I'm ready to go underground and wait to bloom again.  I'm ready to clean our house top to bottom.  God knew this before we even were...I stand amazed at His creation.

I heard a song today.  Have you ever thought or said, you get on my last nerve?  Well this song is titled, My Last Amen.  Made me think about You get on my last...AMEN!  Wouldn't it be better if we prayed for those who aggravate us and for us to be more accepting of others instead of thinking or saying something so hurtful...YOU GET ON MY LAST...God, help me to love this person as you do AMEN!

Anyway, this song talks about our last Amen...

My Last Amen by Downhere

From the corner of my eye
There's a tear I'm trying to cry
But the feeling can't be found

Like a note thrills in a song
When I play it again, it's gone
Cuz it was never in the sound

And it keeps me wanting
That mysterious thing
Like a night is waiting for a dawn

Every prayer I say (a little closer)
To my resting place (a little closer)
Where my final breath is the beginning
To never needing
And I will find my last Amen

I could swear I have two hearts
One to stay, one to depart
This sad, tragic kingdom

And it burns me down to the core
Because I know there's so much more
It's just a pale reflection

And it keeps me wanting
That mysterious thing
Like an outcast waiting to belong

And while the thrills are fading
The joy is in the waiting
Somewhere in the grand design
It's good be unsatisfied
It keeps the faith and hope a little more alive

I learned about my Fresh Find today at Our Every Day Earth.  This mascara looks like a great find!

Not good...

It has come to my attention that I'm not good at anything really.  Certainly not great at anything.  I can do lots, but many can do better.  I'm adjusting to this thought ;o)  If you aren't great or good at anything do you lose your desire to do anything at all?  Just thinking.

My Fresh Find is this really weird, but cute, mustache necklace.  This could be fun!!!

Picture Perfect...

I decided last minute to go help with a photography session for Adelyn's first professional pictures.  Taken at a ranch at Weatherford.  She was a trooper and I know the pictures will be awesome!  I was so glad I got to help!!!

Here is a quick shot...

Beautiful family!!!

I like this little storage unit as my Fresh Find...not for storage, but for a playhouse.  Adelyn might enjoy it, too!  One day...

My Fresh Find today is this great orange polka dot "crime scene" tape!

Our worship time Sunday was on forgiveness.  I am not one to not forgive.  I forgive quickly, but I don't necessarily forget quickly.  I mean, I am not upset with the person and can see good in them and all that once I turn it over to God for peace...and I do that very quickly.  Then I start my healing process.  I really cannot think of anyone I don't care for or that I need to forgive.  There is good in every person that God has placed in my life, even those who have caused me pain.

What I have been dealing with for some time are childhood hurts.  You know, the kind you tuck away, but they keep getting rubbed to the surface by more hurts?  Well, I've been dealing with me and those.  They never were a big issue until God made them very clear to me.  He showed me that I was the enabler and I that I needed to get past them.  It has been a real soul-searching time for me. It wasn't so much about forgiving...that was done long ago, but really letting go of the pain.  When pain is deep it is so hard for me. I am an extremely sensitive person and I do not handle hurt well.  I withdraw.  I withdraw to heal, to find my way again.  This is done through my relationship in Christ.  Wow, I could never-ever walk this road alone.

Now, I know I have hurt others.  I apologize as God leads. If I have hurt you, I'm sorry. You are worthy and in Him we are free!

Look at this precious baby girl.  The "light" of our little world.  Joy, joy!

It is going to get cool soon and when it does you will want these "cool" Fresh Find today!

It's not the crown that makes the queen!

It is a good thing that it's not the crown that makes the queen!  It is what's in here [heart].  (From the movie, "What a Girl Wants.")

I always wanted to be special.  I always wanted to be important.  I always wanted to please.  I always wanted to make a difference.  I always wanted lots of things, but I never wanted a crown and I never wanted to be a queen.  Good thing, because I didn't and I'm not!

Our son always said I was the Queen Bee.  I don't think it was meant as a compliment ;o)  You remember those bee toys that kids pulled where the wings go around and around as you pulled it?  Yes, I have one of those to remind me of my queenness-not!

I never found it in me to be any of the things I wanted.  It seemed I always fell short (no pun intended here ;o)

It's in here [heart]...I do know that Jesus lives within me.  He makes me special. He makes me important. It is him I want to please. It is through him that I can make a difference.

Wow, I do have a Crown and I am a Queen!!!  In him all things are possible!

If you think your kids like cupcakes and you want to send them one in their lunch then this Fresh Find is a must!

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

My friend Dickie Perkins sent an update today regarding her cancer.  Some good news and some bad.  As the saying goes, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!" was the theme of her email.

She is a hoot...and hoots have attitude and attitude gets you far in the battle of a lifetime!

Dickie had spunk when I worked with her and that same spunk is getting her through this one day at a time.

I guess you might say she is doing the "wave."  Some days she is up and others she is down.  I hear that so often the treatments make you feel far worse than the cancer does, but it is the battle...the war that goes on between disease and medicine.

I'm not sure what I would do if I were faced with this.  Every type of cancer is so different and treatments are different and people are different...

I just realize that the people who fight the battle are the bravest people I know!  I have learned so much from watching them, listening to them, praying for them.  My life is richer for sure!

Many, many are survivors. A few have gone on to perfect rest.  I am blessed!!!

I think this great little messenger bag will do just fine as my Fresh Find!

Bible Student Type...

I was reading somewhere and I jotted down the three types of Bible students.

  1. "nasty medicine type: to them the Word is bitter...yech!  but it is good for their sickness.
  2. "shredded wheat type: to them scripture is nourishing but dry. it is like eating a bale of hay.
  3. "strawberries & cream" type: they just can't get enough of the stuff.

It makes us did the "strawberries & cream" group get to be that way?  They took the wordy words, long chapters, dry lineage and mixed it with the sweetness of Jesus' love and promises of God.  They are consistent in studying the Word and God blesses that.

The Bible was written to help us conform to Christ's image and the only way to do this is to know it and live it.  I'm praying about this.

My Fresh Find are these round shelves.  How cute are these!
