My Fresh Find is this, oh so eclectic, coat hook!
Today I mowed all the yard, the alley and a large area by the dumpster. I sawed a huge damaged limb off the peach tree. I did not think I was going to make it. I got so weak sawing. I did get it done though. Perseverance!!!
"And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only in glory, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance produces character; character produces hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." Romans 5:2-5

This year black and white is big in design. I came across this great chair as my Fresh Find today.
I have mentioned in an earlier blog that I am making baby Adelyn a quilt. My grandmother made our children several and my father made one with his mother that was featured in a news story several years back. Here is a picture of him with it.
I am making the quilt for our daughter's daughter, Adelyn, our first grandbaby. Remember I am a pretty eclectic person so I used some great vintage fabrics and my own design. I had started the quilt. I had the back pretty much put together. I had just not made the time to finish it up. If it was going to get finished before Adelyn comes then I was going to have to "just do it"! Today was a marathon sewing day. From noon to six I sewed. It is finished! It is not like any other quilt you will see and pretty non-traditional. I used thumbtuck corners and have minimal quilting. Here is the front...
and here is the back...

I love to read and these wonderfully beautiful floral book page markers are my Fresh Find!
I am saddened about the senseless murder of the young boy that was kidnapped at the time of the murder of Jennifer Hudson's mother. People do crazy things in our world. Then there was the Lubbock Amber Alert last evening. These children have been located and returned. How fortunate they are to have been found alive. There still is the little Caylee Anthony who is missing. Children are so often thought of as objects. Objects that can be destroyed through abortion, sexual abuse, anger, placed in trunks like bags of groceries or cages like animals. What do you believe makes our society see children as less than worthy?
It breaks my heart. Then there is hope...God created children and in him they find their worthiness!!!

A hefty-weight for your desktop is my Fresh Find today. What a great little CD storage holder...
This is my brother John. Isn't this the cutest picture? I wish we had been closer in age so that we might have gotten to know each other better. I know he brought so much joy to our family. He is the smart one, the college graduate. He is the one that is good with growing things and nature. He is the one that is good with numbers. He is the one... Did I mention that he is my brother? I know all his good "stuff" rubbed off on me!!! Ha-ha!!!
.
I love to mix contemporary design with antique design. I love pieces that make a huge statement, but aren't huge. My Fresh Find today does both! This stool would be great as a phone stool, as bar stools, a play the guitar stool...lots of uses. It is pricey, but I bet we will see it in a less expensive version soon.
My high school friend, Retha Morton Pittman, from Tahoka -I think she runs the City . (Retha is on the left) was telling me about she and her mom (not pictured) doing a commercial
for the Tahoka hospital. They certainly picked two precious women to represent them!
They have a wonderful extended stay program that her mom was in for about five weeks. While she was there the administrator asked them to do the commercial. It will air on KCBD-Channell 11. Here are the first few times so you can check them out...or at least know who they are when you do see it. You will know that they are famous former Plainviewans!!!

My Fresh Find today is going to be...this dog! It could be used as an autograph dog (remember those?) or, the perfect toy for a little one. You knoe they are gonna drag him by his nose. Poor dog ;o)
I went to Broadway Brew last night with a friend. Had a wonderful time. We did not know it was "open mic" night! If you want to read poetry, sing, just talk, whatever, you can. It was slow going getting anyone to do it. The workers announced it and it wasn't happening. So, we just visited and enjoyed our coffee.
Finally a young lady got up there and read her poetry from her laptop. She is a writer. She is a very good writer of poetry. There were subject areas that were not appropriate for mixed crowds...children & old people. ;o) All her works are dark and rather sad. I enjoyed seeing her and feeling her expression though. A very brave young lady. Heard Ashley Hardage sing. That was fun. Got to see & visit with several other Wayland students that I knew.
I must say I prefer a quite place to visit while drinking my coffee, but I think it is way cool that they are offering this for the young people to showcase their creativity.
I watched football most of the day. Way to go Texas Tech!!!
.
My Fresh Find is this quite bathroom fan, light & heater by Braun. I want this!!!
I enjoyed reading about my friend, Kim Pond, being ordained in ministry at First Baptist Church of Tulia. I don't see Kim often, but each time I do she brings me joy. Isn't this a sign of ministry? People love being around people who lift them up not bring them down. People need this, especially living in today's world!
.
I like the idea of today's Fresh Find. It is a vertical tissue box. It comes in several colors, too!
I wish this picture was clearer for you! This is our son on his Spitfire Ace three-wheeler bike. I wish we still had this. You should have seen him ride it. He played with this more than just about any other "toy" that he ever had. I think his Paw-Paw bought it for him.
.
I really like the looks of my Fresh Find by Yamaha. A great set of "electric" wheels! Saw this over at gizmag.com
1. to attack or treat with ridicule, contempt, or derision.

6. to use ridicule or derision; scoff; jeer
When I look at our world today it scares me because of how it mocks God. The Bible is very clear about mocking God. How can I make a difference? This is my focus at this time...
.
"Do not be deceived, God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." Galatians 6:7
"Many will follow their shameful ways, and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping." 2 Peter 2:2-3
"Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright." Proverbs 14:9
"And the beast [the Antichrist or lawless one] was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months. He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, to slander His name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast - all whose names have not been written in the Book of Life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world." Revelation 13:5-8
"For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly.. All these evils come from inside and make a man 'unclean'." Mark 7:21-23
"But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." Colossians 3:8-12
"The men who were guarding Jesus began mocking and beating him. They blindfolded him and demanded, "Prophesy! Who hit you?" And they said many other insulting things to him." Luke 22:63-65
"and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand and knelt in front of him and mocked him. "Hail, king of the Jews!" they said. They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again. After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him." Matthew 27:29-31
"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish." Psalm 1:1-6

My Fresh Find today are these light lines. Fun way to share some ambient light!
