This is my grandmother, Lucy May Etter.  Love the curl!  I can still remember her kitchen.  The one where I learned to cook, where we sat around the table chatting in the afternoons and the place where the back door was the entry to the heart of one of the strongest and most caring individuals that I ever met, my grandmother,Cranny.

I try to be nice.  I'm always told to "be nice."  It is the struggle within me.  I'm not nice ;o)  I try and when I fail, I know I am FORGIVEN in Him who is my Redeemer!

Two days ago I wrote this little blurb...

Do you ever have other ideas?  I mean, like you are doing something and those around you won't listen.  Bla-bla-bla!  Why do some always think that they know it all? 

and, I know you are thinking, is she talking about ME?

To that I say, "If the shoe fits wear it.  If it is pinching, take it off, get rid of it, it won't get better!!!"  ;o) 

The same applies to times when we are this person. The one who knows it all, has done it all, is smarter than all, better than all...in a conversation.  God is opening my eyes to this as I converse with others.

Today I found a RAT.  Yes, a RAT (over 12" from head to tail) by our neighbor's & our fence.  It was dead...or I might of been.  I took pictures, but I can't load them because it grosses me out!  A few years ago our neighborhood was "infested" with these gross & dirty rodents.  Lots got cats.  Next year, better.  This year...whoa rats!  It ain't even getting cold outside last time I felt ;o)  So, not sure why this visitor came this far from the Draw, but he gave his life to do so.  I had never seen one until now.  See, I do live a sheltered life!!!  Anyway, I put out some poison just in case he brought friends!!!

Health "nuts" this Fresh Find is for YOU!!!  I'm liking the looks of this...  Would be good to teach kids portions, too!!!

This is my grandfather "Bo."  He was an electrician and signed most all his jobs somewhere on the wood.  A few years ago...like 20 now, an area resident found this and gave it to him.  Isn't that cool?  When he passed away the family got it.

My grandfather had no legs past the knee and very few fingers.  Lost them to frostbite.  Never stopped him from doing anything!  I learned so very much from him.  He called me Pete.  Never sure why, but yup, I'm Pete!

My Fresh Find is this GREAT casual "tennis" shoe.  I bought these at DSW Shoes & love, love them!  I decided I loved them so much that I would locate them online.  BINGO, there they were at Amazon...comfy-comfy!!!

How can a human look at this through eyes that see and doubt that there is a God of all creation?  Look at the delicate nature of the petals and the colors.  WOW!!!

Speaking of delicate.  We are!  Aren't we blessed to have a loving God to help us?  I know I am!!!

This Fresh Find is a great organization help that looks great, too. Felt drawer organizers for small objects.

I think the names of Christ are awe inspiring.  I think that the colors in the flowers are beautiful.  I know that my relationship with Christ is real and many of these names I have personally experienced!  The names are like the colors in the flowers that God created...many and full of fragrance!

I purchased a Caldwell County history book online from their genealogical library.  Yes, it was on a whim!  It turns out that it tells some of the greatest stories about our Ellison line.  My mother will LOVE reading it.  That makes it so worth the price!!!  In the book I found all kinds of data I needed to fill in some empty spots in our history.  What a gold mine!!!

We hear the voice from heaven.  It is God, "This is my beloved son."  God in the most intimate closeness with his son, Jesus Christ.  It is through the Beloved that we know the grace of God.

Today the Heritage Parade was canceled due to bad lightning and wonderful rain!  We all headed to the Broadway Shelter House for the festivities!  I got to be there for a part of it before I needed to head home to see the grand-dog off!  I've added a new photo album in the left sidebar if you want to check out the pictures.
