We had a nice visit.  They are all great pets.  They are all indoor pets.  The big dogs do stay out in the day, but mostly they are all spoiled!!!

Empty + Road +Way

Empty Is your heart empty like this truck?  Today when I saw this it reminded me of how a heart is that hasn't been filled with the love of Jesus.  Notice the huge opening where the world comes and goes freely.  When you have Christ in your life he covers us and protects us.  Do you see the red lights on this empty truck?  Let them remind us to stop and know that God is!

Then the Rw3

and the

Rw2

to eternal life is through realizing your personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  So, is Jesus'...

Work, work, work...

It is 11:30 pm and I am still working.  I have 2 jobs left to get done tonight.  I had a senior girl call wanting an invitation for tomorrow.  She is such a sweet girl that I said yes!  She works out at it's a girl thing for one of my friends, DeLynn.  That's where I met her.  Very sweet girl.  I'm 'bout done with her invites.  I wish you could see all the fun one's I've had the honor to create this year.  It certainly has been fun.  From showers, to graduation, to senior parties...just all kinds of fun events invites or announcements!!!

+

I forgot to mention that you missed a real treat Sunday if you weren't sittin' in a pew at First Baptist Church Plainview Texas USA!!!  Susan Browning sang and Martin Duckett played the piano.  Chance McMillan was on drums and Jeremy Harriss was on either guitar or bass...not sure now that I think about it.  I'll pay more attention!  Anyway the song was great, great!!!  She should really be a professional singer!!!  A lot of talent in that mom!!!

+

I just got back from Wal-Mart.  Had a nice visit with Bryson.  He is a GREAT young man!!!  We have been friends since high school days.  He went to school with Chrissa and B.  Ran into an old literacy kid, Kolby.  It was good to see him.  I really miss working with high school kids.  They are at such a great age.  A tough age, but a great stage in their lives!!!

Well, gotta go get busy or I won't ever get to bed.  Take care and have a wonderful day where you stop long enough to realize even the smallest of blessings!!!

We ALL Need a LAUGH...

Our friend Rod-the-Bod sent this to me today.  I'll share it with you because it made me laugh.  With the wind and other downer things in our world we DO need to LAUGH!!!

A kindergarten pupil told his teacher he'd found  a cat. She asked him if it was dead or alive. "Dead." She was informed. "How do you know?" she asked her pupil. "Because I pissed in its ear and it didn't move,"
answered the child innocently. "You did WHAT?!?" the teacher exclaimed in surprise. "You know," explained the boy, "I leaned over and went 'Pssst!' and it didn't move."

A small boy is sent to bed by his father. Five minutes later..."Da-ad...." "What?" "I'm thirsty. Can you bring drink of water?" "No. You had your chance. Lights out."  Five minutes later: "Da-aaaad....." "WHAT?" "I'm THIRSTY. Can I have a drink of water??" "I told you NO!" If you ask again, I'll have to spank you!!" Five minutes later......"Daaaa-aaaad....." "WHAT!" "When you come in to spank me, can you bring a drink of water?"

An exasperated mother, whose son was always getting into mischief, finally asked him, "How do you expect to get into Heaven?" The boy thought it over and said, "Well, I'll run in and out and in and out and keep slamming the door until St. Peter says, 'For Heaven's sake, Dylan, come in or stay out!'"

One summer evening during a violent thunderstorm a mother was tucking her son into bed. She was about to turn off the light when he asked with a tremor in his voice, "Mommy, will you sleep with me tonight?" The mother smiled and gave him a reassuring hug. "I can't dear," she said. "I have to sleep in Daddy's room." A long silence was broken at last by his shaky little voice: "The big sissy."

It was that time, during the Sunday morning service, for the children's sermon. All the children were invited to come forward. One little girl was wearing a particularly pretty dress and, as she sat down, the pastor leaned over and said, "That is a very pretty dress. Is it your Easter Dress?" The little girl replied, directly into the pastor's clip-on microphone, "Yes, and my Mom says it's a b- to iron."

When I was six months pregnant with my third child, my three year old came into the room when I was just getting ready to get into the shower. She said, "Mummy, you are getting fat!" I replied, "Yes, honey, remember Mummy has a baby growing in her tummy" "I know," she replied, but what's growing on your bottom?

A little boy was doing his math homework. He said to himself, "Two plus five, that son of a bitch is seven. Three plus six, that son of a bitch is nine...." His mother heard what he was saying and gasped, "What are you doing?" The little boy answered, "I'm doing my math homework, Mum." "And this is how your teacher taught you to do it?" the mother asked.  "Yes," he answered. Infuriated, the mother asked the teacher the next day, "What are you teaching my son in math?" The teacher replied, "Right now, we are learning addition." The mother asked, "And are you teaching them to say two plus two, that son of a bitch is four?" After the teacher stopped laughing, she answered,
"What I taught them was, two plus two, THE SUM OF WHICH, is four."
(this reminds me of when they were building the I-27 bridge/overpass.  I had just picked up a missionary couple and as we drove into town our young son yelled, “bitch, bitch”.  I about died until we realized he was yelling, “bridge, bridge.  See where our minds were???)

One day the first grade teacher was reading the story of Chicken Little to her class. She came to the part of the story where Chicken Little tried to warn the farmer. She read, ".... and so Chicken Little went up to the farmer and
said, "The sky is falling, the sky is falling!" The teacher paused then asked the class, "And what do you think he said?" One little girl raised her hand and said, "I think he said: 'Holy Moly! A talking chicken!'"
The teacher was unable to teach for the next 10 minutes.

Hope you at least got a smile on your face!!!

Somethins' Burnin'...

If you see flames coming from Plainview it might be because of the turf they plan to put at the football stadium OR that they named the football stadium after Mr. Sherwood OR that they want to have alcohol sales in Plainview. It is sad that so much good goes on here and all the outsiders see are the "controversial" issues!   Do you know the way to a woman's heart?  Through her children.  Make choices that are good for kids and we are happy!  I thought yesterday's headlines in the Herald were interesting.  Both on the front page...

It’s time for Shattered Dreams  and Liquor petition drive going...

Kind of conflicting messages!

Well, like I said before, I'm searching for my own answer to this issue.  You do the same.  Now, what I want to say is this.  If we all are out doing kind things for others and this gets in the media (and I'm not talking local media here)...well, wouldn't the outsiders be surprised???  Nothing negative from Plainview.  Maybe the good guys do win in the end!!!  Try it, you'll like it :o)  Being a good guy & winning...the two just go together!!!

Oh, I stopped by Jason Johnson's today for a myplainview blog photo.  You can view at http://www.xanga.com/JJPHOTO

+

Graced people...Romans 5:20 "From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another...where sin abounds God's grace abounds all the more."

+

Faith people...II Corinthians 5:7 "...walk (live) by faith and not by sight."

+

Loving people...Matthew 22:37-38 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  Love your neighbor as yourself."

+

Worshiping people...Psalm 145:3 "Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom."

+

Sharing people...John 20:21 "As the father sent me, I am sending you."

+

This is what Dr. Travis Hart shared with us today.  Well, he shared much more but I wanted to share a few of the things because they meant so much to me.  One thing that I loved is this...

You can't out sin the grace of God!

+

No matter who you are you are worthy because God created you.  No matter who you are his Word is for you.  No matter who you are the gift of grace covers you.  No matter who you are following him in faith will set you free.  No matter who you are he loves you so that you can show his love.  No matter who you are the Lord is worthy of your praise.  No matter who you are you are here to tell others all this.

See why when the sun comes up and when it sets we are blessed???

Friendship

Today one of my dear friend's husband went to the emergency room.  I felt led to go sit with her, so I did.  I guess I can say that everything turned out pretty good.  Hearts are a funny thing and are very important to our body functioning.  They are observing and doing a procedure the first of the week.  He is in good hands at the Heart Hospital so...this is good.  Pray for him.

If you look in the right sidebar you will see a newly added item, ClustrMap.  You can click on this and see where in the world viewers of this page live!  A pretty cool addition if you ask me.  I "stole" it from David; thanks David!!!

Susan sings in worship in the morning and I'm pumped.  I know God will bless me through her wonderful message.  Then we are taking our 2nd grade Sunday School kids that have learned their books of the Bible to lunch.  Dr. Hart, Janie & their daughter Ellen are their special treat.  The kids picked Tokyo Japanese Steak House as the place they wanted to go.  Should be very interesting!!!

The people across the street from us are moving.  They have been there about 2 years and we have not conversed since the first few weeks.  They made it clear to all us neighbors that they do not like neighbors.  They have put black plastic up in most their windows and everything is all covered up and closed up most the time.  Kind of makes us wonder...  They have 2 kids, moved her from Cali and he works at the pool store I think.  I'm sure they are nice people...just loners.  I'm looking forward to someone new with kids that enjoy playing outside on pretty days.  I enjoy seeing young couples move in and watching their families grow.  Kids keep us young!  Since I have no grandchildren, only granddogs...I will just enjoy our neighborhood kids.  We now have 5 little kids to watch grow up.  Way cool!!!

Here is a pretty picture of Zoey Belle (my Princess granddog) on her 7th birthday...isn't she precious? Zoey_seven_019

It is what it is...

It is what it is!  When I do watch TV I am always looking for what I can learn from what I am watching.  I know there is a lesson for me.  Maybe it is to show me how blessed I am, like when I watch Extreme Home Make Over.  Maybe it is to show me a new fashion trend as I watch America's Next Top Model or  Project Runway.  Or, a quote from someone on Deal or No Deal...like this one a mother always told her daughter, "it is what it is".  It is what it is and what we do with it is what makes or breaks us.  Attitude  or my new word e-dut-it-ta!

+

So, if I see you and say, "e-dut-it-ta"  you will know I am encouraging you...with at-ti-tud-e!

+

Speaking of attitude.  God has attitude!  He has a fun one...he made me didn't he?  He has a serious one...he leads me.  He has a beautiful one and I saw it again tonight in the clouds and today in my flowers.  Enjoy!!!

DiVa SiStAs & GuRlZ

We had our Diva night for Deniz tonight and it was such fun.  Fusun drove Ilhan's "bus" for us so we could all ride together.  Carolyn, Debby, Deniz, Fusun, Hope and myself loaded in the "bus" and off we went to the Clay Cafe in Lubbock.  Deniz had a 2 foot black mortar board that she had to wear for us on the way (and at the cafe)!  We were suppose to stop at the rest stop for a field trip but Fusun stepped on the gas about that time...wonder why?  Ellyn met us at the cafe and she came in with her shirt tied up and all looking young and cute...so, I set her straight!  She didn't listen, does anyone???  We let Deniz select her Yale dishes and pick out the glaze colors and tell us exactly what to do.  We did what she said but with a little spin on it.  The damp sponge kept disappearing and the artist hidden in us had a hard time stepping up to the plate.  After we got some dinner in our tummies we became much more creative.  All our boo-boos turned out okay and I think the Everything is Bigger in Texas theme will fit right in at Harvard (private joke), I mean YALE!!!  We cleaned up our mess...oh they gave a door prize and each table got to draw for one.  Deniz drew for our table and she drew HER number!!!  Could that not have been more perfect?  I don't think so!  So, we finished cleaning up and headed out and stopped by Brad & Kayla's cute house.  We looked at the baby (picture) and the new bedding for the crib.  It was a nice visit!  Cute couple.  Then we headed to the Sonic...imagine that...and Deniz checked out the firemen.  Fusun tried to get carded but failed!  We dragged or drug or drove down 50th Street for fun and headed home.  The conversation turned to a confrontation and non of us fought.  We let Deniz win because it WAS her party :o)  It was a fun night for a fun girl and we wish her the very best from the Sistas!!!010009 024

There is a photo album in the sidebar if you want to look!!!
