~ When To Shop ~

Guess what?  I just discovered the best time to go shopping at Wal-Mart.  Halloween night while everyone is out Trick-or-Treating!!!  It was like a ghost town, really.  Everyone was just standing around visiting.  A strange feeling but very nice to just shop in peace.

We celebrated Peggy's birthday tonight.  You know, my mother-in-law...the matriarch.  She is the glue that holds her family together.  TC is like Clinton, supportive in every way and has a real example of what a true work ethic is, but Peggy is the glue.

We had a nice dinner.  It was lonely without Chrissa, Brandon, Brant, Beverly, Donna & her family & Kathy & her family but hey, we partied!

This morning in Precept in our study on Revelation the thought that God impressed on me is that Jesus is my "keeper", my protector.  Through all time and until the last days I am in the palm of his hand and he is in my heart.  My friend Diane Book always teases about being a "kept woman".  I discovered today that I like being a kept woman by the King.  You really need to do a study on the book of Revelation to realize what God expects from us as Christians and how deep his love is for us.

Here is a fine example of God's love for us...Dscn1968

Peace be with you throughout the days ahead.

~ Coats, Coats, Coats and VOTE! ~

Today Valerie & Jo met me at the church and helped process all the coats for the Coats for Kids drive this Saturday.  We "processed about 120 coats in an hour and a half.  We ran out of hangers and labels with just 4 or 5 coats left.  We will be getting more coats throughout this week.  I'm guessing we will end up with around 300 coats.  This is great.  I think they had about 400 last year, but the way I look at it is whatever we give we will give.  Pray for warm weather on Saturday afternoon!!!

Today is Jo Lively's birthday.  She is one of my dearest friends!  I just cannot believe she is 83 years old!  She acts my age and can do anything!!!  I pray I am like her when I am that age!!!

I did some dance things for my mother today and then she, Clinton & I headed to Furr's for dinner (did you know they really are not Furr's any more?).  Mother thought I was 55 and I had to inform her that I am not.  Getting there quickly though!  What are mother's for except to encourage us, right?  Too funny!!!

Wednesday is my mother-in-laws birthday.  If you have not had the opportunity to know her, you are missing knowing a strong woman.  Strong in her earthly life and strong in her Christian values.  I have learned so much from her.  Clinton, I'm sure, thinks I might need to learn more...especially when it comes to money.

On money...I just don't like to deal with it at all.  I would like to live where the stores just stocked things and we would just go get what we need and there would be no money worries.  We would have everything we need until we needed no longer.  There is a movie in that thought, I'm certain!  Heaven is the only solution for my woes on that subject!!!

Woes?  Just think about how all those that are running for office are feeling about now!  Support someone and get out and VOTE!!!

Tomorrow is Precept and I need to AT LEAST read the scriptures so, I'll go.  May you find truth in the Word, as I have!  Here is a wonderful picture for you!  Rainbow_copy

~ Saturday ~

Today was a calm day.  I say that because the wind wasn't blowing the house down speed!  The sun was shining and it was just a beautiful day.  I did not do much.  I got all my tools put away from Aaron's move.

I have a program coming up on gift wrapping.  I started trying to think about what to share with the group.  There is just so much!  There are so many cool things to do it made me tired just thinking of them.  I will have to just share a few since we won't have all day.  Since the program topic this year for our study club is Entertainment for Dummies, I guess I should keep it pretty simple!

Pretty much that is all I did.  Oh, household cleaning & that type of boring stuff was worked in, as always!

The time changes.  I wish we could just compromise & have the same time all year.  I know it supposedly helps safety but, what would 30 minutes matter?

The PHS volleyball team lost today...that is a bummer!  I just hate it when kids are disappointed!  Such is life, I know.  Danny Andrews always says that I wish every competition ended in a tie.  That is so true.  I know you learn from losing and from winning...I just like happiness!!!

So, off to try and find anything decent on TV.  I'll probably end up on the Food Network or HGTV.  Seems nothing worth watching is on these days!  Have a wonderful worship filled Sunday!

~ Back To Normal ~

Well, it is back to normal, whatever that is.  I finished up at Aaron's new place late today.  It turned out very nice.  I think they are to put siding on and that will really be great.  It is HIS first home, with all His things.  A very nice start.  I think I will do nothing tomorrow.  We did not make the last football game.  I am listening to it right now!  The Bulldogs are winning big.  Hope it stays that way!!!  Oh, I learned that if you put moth balls out it will keep rodents & wild critters away.  Never knew that!  Just thought I would share that farmgirl wisdom with you.  Coming from a "city" slicker...that is wise-dom!!!  Merry weekend!

~ Too Old ~

I'm too old for this!  I'm just a little behind.  Hope to play catch up tomorrow!  My advice...build a house...don't move into an old farmhouse!  Of course, not everyone can do that and I must admit that the sunset from Aaron's yard was fabulous tonight!!!  Made me know God's hand is in this!!!  My God is an awesome God!  Do you know Him?

~ A Little Behind ~

Well, I survived today.  Thank goodness that Robert & Elvia were troopers & helped me ALL day.  We had floor people, plumbers, electricians, carpet cleaners & we are getting 'er done.  We still have ALL the kitchen & dining left to do and then finishing touches on the bath (which got a fresh coat of paint today).  We will move all the in town "stuff" and then the other country hoese "stuff.  Keep praying!  Elvia will not be able to help first thing but hopefully Robert can.  I may be on my own.  Robert got the barn cleaned out, holes filled in, some trimming done & lots more.  Elvia & I got all the walls cleaned, nails out, windows cleaned & curtains hung.  It will get done!  I'll report back tomorrow if I have an ounce of energy left.  Have a great Wednesday!!!

~ What a Day ~

Hi there.  Today started out with a trip to the church to unload the 70 coats Doylene brought us for the Coats for Kids drive on November 4th.  There are some great coats.  We used the money that people gave and got some great coats!  Unloaded those & carried them to "the room".  They will have to wait till next week to get sized, tagged & processed.  This week I am trying to get Aaron's house in order, oh my!  The place had not been cleaned since the young man moved in.  How sad!  Today God answered my prayer.  They are putting in new kitchen, utility & bath floor!  That is a huge relief!!!  The girls came to clean late today.  Their cleaning is vacuuming and feather dusting so...guess Elvia & I have a full day of deep cleaning.  I plan to paint the bathroom...don't have time to tackle the kitchen...wish I did!!!  Everything else is paneling & will be washed down with Murphy's soap.  They will clean the carpet tomorrow and that will all help get it in move-in condition.  Old farmhouses are just that...old.  Then you take bad tenants and it just gets worse.  This house has good bones and I think it will be great once we get it all done.  Just getting there!  The views are beautiful & the location is awesome so...keep praying for me as I try to make it through this week.  When I start feeling sorry for myself God always sends others into my life that remind me, it could be worse!  My friend Martin is catering a huge deal Tuesday afternoon...for like 150 people!  WOW!!!  Hope has "Make a Difference Day" this weekend and that is a huge deal to orchestrate!!!  So, I'll just...yes, you got it!  I'll put on my "big girl panties and deal with it" attitude!  Do something for me...look each person God sends into your path today in the eyes and smile & say hello.  You will be amazed at how God will bless you!  Laters!

~ Zonked ~

Well, I am.  Zonked, as in my brain is tired.  I have worn myself out worrying about the details of getting everything planned to move Aaron this week, we hope!  I say, we hope, because we were to help him move last week.  Had everything planned and the guy didn't get out.  It rained, I understand, and it will be better this week because God has shared that with me.  I do have an open line with God and am on it 24/7!  Pray for us this week as we prepare the little house for Aaron.  I want it to be a nice little home for him.  A place of comfort and peace.  A place where when he goes to sleep he knows he is home.  You know, we all need a place to call home.  I love my home.  I thank God all the time for the original "my space"!  Our home is where I love to be.  I will take it over a trip anywhere, any day.  I want that for both our kids!  Not that they don't enjoy a trip now & then but, that their home is their get away from the stresses of the world.  I hope you have that.  This time next week I will be onto another project or two.  I am looking forward to a few days of nothing to do.  I'm not sure when that will come but maybe in a week or so.

I need to tell you that I got honked at today.  Well, maybe it was Hope that they were honking at.  We had our rears all sticking out on Quincy while we looked in the windows of Sullivan's for a bistro set.  Maybe they thought we were pumpkins?  Maybe scarecrows???  Not sure why they honked but we take it as a compliment!

I have 2 more training sessions with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) this week.  I hope I can make them.  I have enjoyed the first 2.  I need to get my homework done.  I need to finish up my Precept study on Revelations homework, too.  Guess I should go & get busy.  But, I'm not in the mood for homework.  I don't like homework!  Isn't that what I disliked most about school?  Why I was not a good student?  Why do I have it now?  Do I have to do it?  No, should I?  Yes.  So, there come those "big girl" panties again!  Hope gave me these panties & I'm not sure whether I should love her or hate her for them.  I guess thank her because they ARE a constant reminder that the world does not revolve around ME!!!  What a shame... ;o)
