February is Black History Month, and the Plainview AHEAD (Austin Heights Empowerment & Development) and the Booker T. Washington All-School Reunion social media pages have done a tremendous job sharing leaders in their community through the years. Plainview AHEAD hosted the Evening of Excellence to award outstanding citizens. They are planning a golf scramble on June 8, 2024, leading to the Juneteenth parade and celebration on June 15.
There is no way for these groups to publish every person who impacted others positively, but they have reminded us to remember those who impacted our lives. One woman is Gladys Davis, a homemaking teacher at Plainview High School in the late sixties - seventies.
We would be very interested to know about her education and career. Did she graduate from Tillitson in Austin? Did she first teach at Booker T. Washington? Share about her family.
She made an impact on students. What a precious woman of God.

Please share others who impacted your life in recognition of Black History Month.
