The Hotel Ware is a magnificent building. It was among Plainview's first businesses as the R.C. Ware Hardware, which was opened at the site, then Pacific (Broadway) and Main (Sixth Street) in 1889. About a year later, J.N. Donohoo arrived, and he partnered with R.C. Ware to operate the Donohoo-Ware Hardware Store at that location. In 1907 they decided to add on and create several floors for office space. Several business owners asked them to consider building a much-needed hotel instead. By 1910 the Hotel ware was open. The structure cost 125,000 to build. Through the years, it has changed, and now only the bottom floor is housed with the adult probation, tax, surveyor, and historical commission offices.
