R. C. Ware

 

This is a circa photo from the early 1900s of women in kimonos outside the home of R.C. Ware, a prominent citizen of Plainview, Texas. The ladies are wearing kimono-style robes. People in this time were fascinated with oriental cultures, and their styles often influenced their clothing. Behind the farmhouse, we can see a tall Star Mill metal windmill, which Ware sold and advertised in his general hardware store.
