I have posted this cactus cloth before. It is one of my favorite pieces of Plainview history. Cactus cloth is plant-derived silk that has been made with the same process for centuries, by crushing cactus leaves and then washing and hammering the fibers, which are then woven into thread and dyed. Next, we have an artist involved. This is a rare find.
I appreciate that whoever the artist is/was considered Plainview as a vital part of the Texas whole.
