A sneak peek of a new restaurant coming in at the 1175 (Elk's Lodge). Chef, Jay Bendele (more about him in another post to come), is working hard to have his dream become a reality in this new venture.

A little about Chef Bendele...
"I have been professionally cooking for 30 years with a culinary degree in the '90s from Le Chef later named Cordon Bleu. I have been in Plainview since 2012 (minus the 1 year I spent in Wichita Falls). I originally moved here to be the executive chef at Wayland. I didn't expect to be in Plainview very long but I have met some of the best people ever living here so have decided to make Plainview my home. I am super excited about bringing "Farmhouse" to Plainview. We have a nice selection of restaurants but I feel we need a good home-style restaurant that isn't controlled by corporate recipes. Gravy/sauces cooked from scratch daily, hand-cut steaks, and chicken fried steak the size of your face LOL. We will offer specials that may not be related to home-style food as I also love to prepare Italian food and some others you will enjoy. As we settle in catering will be available along with dishes for your freezer. We are working hard to get the doors open and can't wait to meet and make smiles with everyone."
One of the exciting changes will be a north side entry to the restaurant, making it easier to access the restaurant.

There is still lots of finishing work and getting the restaurant ready for customers. We wish Mr. Bendele much success. They hope to open by early December!
