Operation Serve, a community partnership, is today in Plainview. Your Main Street Board members were #outonthedowntown helping, as was a First United Methodist Church team.
We had high goals with four projects set for downtown today. A group started at 6:45 AM at the historical Glen Mills Barber Shop. Things were dusted, floors scraped and cleaned, as well as a nice window cleaning. We love the walk down memory lane for our downtown visitors.
L to R: Torri Huddleston, Main Street Special Project Coordinator, Carol Terrell, Ranada Jack, Phyllis Wall, Main Street board members, Melinda Brown, Main Street director, and Diane Martinez, Main Street board member.
Next, there were 350 bags stuffed with information for the Red, White, and Moo to be held on July 2nd in conjunction with the fireworks show at Regional Park. I switched out with Jordan Hrbacek for this picture. She stuffed 350 bags because they are expecting a bundle of joy soon, and she could not help with the barbershop spruce up. This is just a part of the Main Street Board members who are serving our community. You have a great working board!!!
A crew cut down and uprooted the shrubbery on the southwest corner of the courthouse. Now you can really see the beautiful marker there.
Third from the right is Main Street board member John Turpen. The other men are from First United Methodist Church and community volunteers.
And finally, several from these groups tackled the alley behind the Fair Theater. They bagged years worth of leaves and trash, and branches were cut and hauled off. A good trim sure makes it look loved!
