A sweet friend found me a vintage Plainview, Texas, zoning map.

 

What many folks don't know are how many 'divisions' and 'additions' there are in Plainview. We are familiar with some like Westgate, Hillcrest, Thunderbird and the likes, but there are many like Alexander and Westmoreland, Central, Slaton, Elizabeth, Wayland Heights, Rigler, Sardenville, Brock, Turner Terrace, Boswell Heights, West Boswell, etc.

 

And there are several industrial and business park areas...

Memorial Day 2018

 

What a lovely Memorial Day Veteran's Program we had this morning at the Plainview Memorial Park gazebo. To each who took part in providing this special memorial remembrance time, thank you.

Program

 

The Memorial Day Program will be held in Plainview, Texas, on Monday, May 28, 2018, at the Plainview Cemetery gazebo located in the east cemetery at Joliet & SW 3rd Streets. It is set to start at 10 AM. Bring your family! Bring your chairs & umbrella for shade.

Extreme Makeover

 

Unless you live under a shell, you know that Trussell Park aka Duck Pond is getting an extreme makeover. Speaking of shell...

 

The project is coming along. Hopefully, there will be a new drone recording soon.

 

Alma Mater

 

My alma mater, College Hill Elementary School in Plainview, Texas, is where I started my day. This morning the Plainview Chamber of Commerce did a ribbon cutting for their new playground. The PTO along with the College Hill Administration, teachers, students and their families came together with a vision, a mission, and boots on the ground to see it accomplished. 

PISD, individuals, community, the business community all partnered to create a fun environment for the students. This is what I most enjoy about Plainview, how everyone works together for good. It is a God principle. I see it everywhere, and I know it is our future!

 

 

Then, we received these priceless notes! Cherish!!!

 

Thank you, College Hill, for nurturing children through education, kindness, and compassion!
