I was not a big movie goer growing up. I'm still not. I visited the Granada a hand full of times. I did not get my first kiss there or meet friends to hang out there. I do remember enjoying the ladies restroom window that opened onto the street. It was the glow of the lights that were magical.
Thanks to the Granada for showing the Poseidon Adventure, the last movie I saw there, that stunted my cruise ship travel desires. Seriously, the movie affected me deeply enough that I have no desire to do ship travel at all.
Anyway, I can't blame it on the theater. It was my choice to go. I did not leave!
The deal is, I know so many who did frequent the Granada. Many did get their first kisses there and met up with friends every weekend. The theater holds special memories for many. IIt is important that we all work together to see it refurbished and enjoyed by future generations. It can be different and still have the charm we all remember. New memories can be made.
If we all do our part by donating to the cause it will happen. Donate now for future fun times! Let's not talk about it, let's do it!!! Contact Darryl Holland via the Facebook page with your desire to give. Click on links)
