There are so many shades of green. When I saw this picture I knew I had to stop and take a moment to absorb the many shades of green that were used to create this Godly masterpiece!
I read this artist's BLOG about a 'green journey' and I really found it a fun green trip! (click on BLOG)
I was born into First Baptist Church, Plainview, Texas. My parents took me to the baby room as an infant.
Seven, the number seven reminds me of half of a cross. Seven is the age I was when I asked Jesus into my life, to be my Savior. Only thing was, all said and done, I found that even though I was saved and assured of my Salvation, I had in reality only given him part of me. I didn’t realize it at the time. I knew I wanted to go to heaven when I died, and I wanted to be forgiven of all my wrongs. God showed me that he wanted more from my life.
The Holy Spirit has always led me with music to strengthen my walk with my Savior. As a teenager, I was a part of our church youth group enough for my life to be touched for the better. Ed Wittner allowed me to be in the youth choir, too. To him, I am eternally grateful!
Between my junior and senior years in high school our church youth choir went on tour to the northwest. One evening during a performance, God showed me that my age seven decision needed to be an age 16 commitment to make the cross of giving myself to Him complete.
He showed me his ministry of servanthood. Each day I am in awe at the opportunities for growth. Growth for me as well as others that he places in my life as I am sensitive to his desires for my service to Him.
There are many songs that have continually impacted my life from my youth, but there are two that God delivers often to bring me peace. The first one is, I've Got Confidence.
The other song is the New 23rd.
Through every piece of music I sang and every opportunity I had with our youth choir, God grew me for his glory.
This morning at First Baptist Church, we enjoyed amazing worship music and Carley Hardage glorified God with her gift of music. Blessed!
As we recognized our graduating youth this morning in worship, it was my prayer that somewhere along the way in their church life that they were impacted for the better. I was honored to have many of these seniors as second graders. I hope they remember their Books of the Bible and the password from the memory verses! Mostly, I hope they know how loved they are and that their worthiness comes from God not man.
What a wonderful day for a PAW-ty! It poured when I was unloading things, but then I found a lucky penny. The day was beautiful! Blessed!
The Plainview Association of Realtors put on an awesome event for the Paws Pet Adoption of Plainview today at the Brew. With the rain, we had no idea how the afternoon would go, but it was perfect! A huge thank-you to Vickie Stewart for all she did to make this event happen.
People came in groups, you know how that is; a rush and then a lull, but it was a pretty steady shower of needed items for this agency.
The music by Aaron Shackleford was amazing, too.
A full pick-up cab and bed full plus another partial load of goodies were hauled off...This was from the first hour. I did not get a picture of everything donated.
A fun donated flower collar modeled by one of Paws Pet Adoption of Plainview leaders. Adorable!
Thank you to everyone who gave. It was a fun day. Many items were dropped in the barrels at Gebo's and the Unger Memorial Library, too. Thank you to the newspaper, the radio, Facebook shares, the Paws board members & volunteers, the Brew for the cookies...
and a big thank you to Jeanie, Julie, Karen and Nicki for your help!
Some days I feel this old. I feel as old as this original downtown Plainview building boiler. (Say that three times fast!)
It's patent date is 1904. It is covered in age marks from its daily living. It was useful and dependable for as long as it could be. One day It slowed down, most likely because it wasn't cared for properly. The load was heavy. The ashes built up. No longer did anyone take the time to care for it because of the details in the time and effort to take care of old things.
Over 100 years have passed since this beauty burned the midnight oil, well wood, and its ashes (imprinted on boiler: remove ashes daily) are a reminder of heat running through radiators, as well as hot water at the faucet.
Then, along the way something newer and more efficient was developed to heat the building and its water and the boiler found rest.
I feel this old sometimes, but I still keep on going, doing what I can each day, to help the best I can along the way.
And then one day, something newer and more efficient will came along to do what I do and I will find rest. Shhh, I'm enjoying it!!!
What a beautiful representation of our history this 1910 picture is! The people of Plainview gather together to celebrate the laying of the cornerstone of the Hale County Courthouse.
We can't complain. We prayed for rain and God has delivered it abundantly. It is beautiful just like the sunshine is that follows. The Skatepark Plainview was started yesterday, 5-12-2015, and today...
Look at the beauty in this pile of dirt!!! Almost makes me think I'm in Ireland!!!
