The City of Plainview's parks department planted new trees along Highway 70 (west 5th Street) in the Lloyd Woods Park.

Plainview Fun Saturday ...

Today we were privileged to be able to do a quick grand-sister's family photo time at Plainview's Talen's Art Supplies & Gallery. Owners Elisha & Junior were so very accommodating. The walls in the gallery are awesome. Here is Chris Hanoch from Don's Photography giving instruction before the session.

I'm looking forward to murals on some of our alley way walls in the future. Today I enjoyed the wooden poles. Love this view in Plain-view!!!

Lost Fun ...

Today I had to be in Lubbock for a dermatology appointment. I had lunch with my friend since age 2...I would say "oldest" but we take offense to that word these days!

Afterwords I got lost. It was a fun lost.

A real treat kind of lost!!! I did find what I was looking for. It's all good. Back in Plainview and loving it a little more!

Today I took a drive to one of my favorite places to just go. It was a 'for the birds' day :O)

Walking Sticks ...

 

There is an artist, Don, that will be showing at the February 28, 2014 -  ARTWALK PLAINVIEW. He creates walking sticks. He creates them out of something native to our area. A Careless weed is his art medium. He painstakingly gathers the weed, trims it down, and continues to beautify it into the amazing walking stick.

The one below is rustic and what he would say is raw, unfinished. It is beautiful.

This is one that has been given a natural stain finish. I see this as a piece that art could hang from or even over an art piece. Of course, it is created as a walking stick.

Be sure and get the fourth Friday of February on your calendars. Friday, February 28th, 2014 in Plainview . Texas . on Broadway Street. Don will have a variety of walking sticks that will sell in the 45.00 range.

Plainview Downtown Association ...

.

Some may think there is nothing going on in Plainview's downtown but the Plainview Downtown Association is moving forward. Today's meeting brought many reports of progress. It often seems slow to the outside world but things are happening. Visions are dancing in their heads and being implemented.
